Why are you guys using a picture of a black guy for this story?

“What’s in this drink?” was a way of saying “Wow, this is strong!” back in the day. It was a holdover from Prohibition when you literally did not know what was in your drink and hoped for the best.

Hey, I’m calm. By “so what,” I meant that being on oxygen doesn’t preclude one from having an enjoyable life.

WHY would they resuscitate the foetus?

So what? there are a lot of people who are on oxygen.

I am also pro-choice, and I concur....once the baby is out and separate from the mother, it is it’s own person. and “finishing the abortion” (i.e. killing a newborn) should count as murder. The reason I am pro-choice is because a woman gets to determine what happens to her body, and I believe the baby counts as an

Generally QOL is made on the consideration of “what the patient would want”— like would you do emergency recussitative care on a person with dementia, or what have you. an excellent reason for all people of any age to have a DNR. as it is an infant, it would be impossible to know what he would want. Anyway infants are

Abortion after 20 weeks is severely restricted in most US states.

I think he needs to remain on oxygen for now. at this age, most of his lungs are made, just not surfactant— lung development continues post partum. the sentence is poorly written (dangling modifer of “daily”) but this is not uncommon for premature infants.

Jesus fucking christ, “finish the abortion”? He’s a BABY. He was born ALIVE. And I am 1,000% pro-choice. But once you are born and viable, you are your own person with the right to a shot at life. My best friend has a 5 year old who was born at 26 weeks and weighed 1.5 pounds. He’s a fucking miracle. Shame on you.

Yes, the baby is disabled, but so are a lot of other premature infants or babies with congenital illnesses. That doesn’t mean that they don’t deserve medical care.

The horror of the latter doesn’t negate the horror of the former.

Hey, absolutely not. The baby was alive, if sick. A preemie. DOC would be to help mom with hemorrhage and provide intensive care to the baby.

Isn’t 6 months well past the legal abort by date? (Genuine question, Canadian so I am not sure what US laws are)

Is this an either or proposition?

Why would they resuscitate it? Are you fucking kidding?

This is horrible, but it is past the point where abortions are legal in most (or all?) states. I don’t think she should be charged with attempted first degree murder at all, but I guess this doesn’t surprise me that much?

Last time I checked, we came in 2nd place in Vietnam.

Yeah your guns will do well against a Reaper drone.

On the flip side, how many people in the military would actually attack their own civilians?
