Actually he was centered in the matter since the policy suggestion was that he (e.g. white faculty) not be on campus during the specified day. If you’re going to tell people not to come to campus, I think its reasonable to expect some will take exception to that even, gosh, speak up about it.

Yeah, as others have pointed out, they wanted the white students and faculty to leave campus for the day. Weinstein said there was a difference between voluntarily being absent and telling another group to go away.
