Has anybody else notices how uniquely horrible he is with grieving parents? I know this whole thing was his idea because of how tone deaf it is.

“A statement of fact cannot be insolent.”
I live in NYC and am really aggressive as a pedestrian. I figure, there are literally zero consequences right now for drivers here who kill pedestrians (visit gothamist dot com if you don’t believe me, so if you’re going to mow me down, I’m going down swinging.
I’d say Trump proves once again he’s at best deranged, at worst a psychopath, but I’d hate to be accused of incivility.
Eh, I just get annoyed at the rank hypocrisy of it all. Drinking is bad for everyone, and the science of where drinking stops being even worse for young people doesn’t exist. Some think that it’s when “adolescence” ends sometime around 19. Others that your brain is still developing until 25. And to top it all off, the…
Eh, even the article you linked to mostly deals with the societal aspects as opposed to the specific health outcomes. And hell, the reason the drinking age was raised in the first place was to prevent kids from driving drunk, not for any health reason.
I bet someone had to beg him to at least not do that.
When I was a kid, they just didn’t care. If you could see over the top of the bar, or the register’s countertop, and had cash on you, then you were served.
I think everything you say is TECHNICALLY true, because the magic happens at about age 25 when your body is completely done growing and changing. While I agree that drinking is not healthy for anyone, there are biggest impacts to using it at a younger age.
One of my friends in college started school at a younger than normal age (I think 16?) so he couldn’t go to the bars with everyone even as a senior. He got an ID from somebody older and it worked every time he was asked for it. The picture looked absolutely nothing like him but he was Asian and so was the guy on the…
“Many people don’t know this, but the British actually aligned themselves with England during the Revolution. Most people don’t know about that whole deal.”
I wrote about this earlier over on Groupthink (https://groupthink.kinja.com/a-country-of-men-not-laws-a-case-study-in-reality-tv-1839089727)
Raise enlistment age to 21.
I’m honestly surprised that they even asked the grieving parents rather than just springing her on them. That sort of horrifying and underhanded move would have Team Trump written all over it. Just force them to meet her and hope they’ll feel pressured by the cameras to play nice.
Why was this woman trying to meet the parents of the young man she killed on film at the fucking White House? To say, “Sorry, but I’m not leaving! MAGA!”
In college (35 years ago) someone had a giant reproduction of an Illinois driver’s license with a cutout in the corner. Hold it up, stand in the cutout, take a picture, run it through the laminator.
Fakes used to be an art form. My one and only was fantastic. I went to this couples house and painted on the wall was a giant Wisconsin ID. They would put the info on in marker in the form of dots to simulate the dot matrix the DMV used. Then you stood in front of the this and they took a picture of the whole thing.…
Yeah I was wondering about age. And I have some thoughts about that which would be unpopular.
Disagree. Harris hasn’t gotten a high profile endorsement from a former Bernie backer in months. AOC going for Harris would have been a much *much* bigger shock than her decision to stick with Sanders as Harris does not share her politics and it’s always a much bigger deal to switch teams than it is to stick with…
Kind of weird we have to read way down to the Post quote before you explicitly post how old he was at the time, no? He was 17, if like me, anyone else was interested, as I couldn’t remember.
