I’ve got nothing in regards to St. Valentine’s day, but Death Valley is definitely worth visiting, and it’s a lot more tolerable in the winter. Depending on which direction you are coming from, Kelso Dunes is worth a stop, Trona is worth driving through (that place is horror-movie scary), and Lake Mono is worth a day.

I caught that bit, and it was utterly disgusting in so many ways. That the interviewer didn’t push him on it, that he said the whole thing with a fucking smile, and that he disingenuously tried to play it off as “swimming lessons”, and again that he didn’t get called out on it.

yeah, while it needs a lot of work on the details, it really should be a no-brainer. Bundling up fighting climate change along with the systemic problem of income inequality and wage stagnation.
