I think the film was well done, but... holy fuck it just evoked disgust and horror from pretty much any angle.

I think I mentioned watching Dogtown to a friend, and that friend mentioned that they wouldn’t watch Lars Von Trier’s stuff, because he did some horribly misogynistic things to the female characters in his film.

I’m not familiar with the system in detail, and it may vary from place to place, but at least in some areas, authors are compensated a certain amount based on the number of times a book is checked out of a library. granted, it’s going to be a tiny fraction compared to the sale %, but there is something.

I haven’t tried recently, but considering that I’m pretty inactive and out of shape, I might be able to float now.

Instincts that evolved to deal with the kinds of threats we encountered on the savannas of Africa a million years ago. Threats that were not assault rifles.

Both Oakland and Berkeley have tool-lending libraries, which can be really useful.

reacts to stimuli that would be recognized as painful if applied to an adult human

damn.

thanks. I thought the name sounded familiar, but I wasn’t about to go googling more of this nonsense.

It’s almost funny how these fucks talk about “the left” being an echo chamber of groupthink, and then talk about the horrors of diversity the next minute.

the mean number of legs for humans is less then 2...
