So where the fuck are devs compensations then? The lay offs?

Also your math is bullshit. A 80 dollar game that would cost 181 today also sold to a tiny fraction of the audience games have today.

My company refuses to let me hire anyone in at anything other than the base pay for position under me without getting

This is such a corporate apologist argument. “VIDEOGAMES WERE 60-70 IN THE 90S, THEY’RE UNDERPRICED NOW!!!” a HUGE part of that 60-70 in the 90s was for the actual physical cartridge that that game came on, manufacturing those things was a huge cost that went down quite a bit with the advent of disc-based games, and

As a dev, let me just say big L-O-L at “inflation” being the reason. It’s corporate greed, period. You think those profits go back to the devs?

So rising prices of gaming primarily goes to increased development costs.”

Just false. Maybe take a look at how many layoffs there have been this year.

It has nothing to do with inflation. Not all game are selling skins at that price, not all games have realised there fanbase has whales that are willing to buy them for that price. Also they still sell cheaper skins, it’s greed simple as, greed knowing that people will buy them that’s why they aim for nostalgia or big

Yeah this is basically a scene from from the news/interstitial ads in Robocop, it’s that level of crass/moronic/horrifying/modern.

Nobody writes about a streamer before they’ve being viewed by a bajillion people, and if you think not reporting on POS streamers is going to cause a bajillion kids/manchildren/basic-AFs to stop watching POS streamers - I don’t know what to tell you. You’re wrong. “Ignore it and it’ll go away” is a terrible thing to

If you read the entire article about how he waves wads of cash and diamond encrusted watches at people, then he’s a pretty big scumbag. But you sound just as ignorant as he is.

I hate to say yes, but... I generally agree with you. Reaction videos are some of the lowest creative bullcrap that exists, if even at ALL creative.

I mean, regardless of your thoughts on either side of the conflict, restreaming war footage at all is a bad look, and reacting to it for entertainment value pushes that low even lower. It’s not the reactions themselves, just the... like... total lack of respect for the death and destruction on display.

I fucking hate “reaction videos,” and have since their inception. Doing this for a war video adds a whole new layer of pathetic narcissism for clicks and attention.

More or less parasitic than ‘advocacy’ groups who hijack tragedies to raise money that they use to pay themselves?

He’s “reacting” to it like it’s some random tiktok video BS - as opposed to watching a mass genocide taking place. He is de-humanzing an atrocity against civilians, turning it into “entertainment” and being flippant about it.

He’s streaming his reaction to war footage which in turn, he gets paid for.

It became

she came up once in my twitch feed and was in a ‘hot tub’ playing no games. I blocked her. Why Kotaku is fascinated with gross oligarch vagina beer i’ll never know

I dunno, pretty sure lots of people got mad at Logan Paul and all the other dudes shilling crypto scams.

as far as I can tell, she’s discovered a market and is providing products to meet that demand. That’s exactly as ethical as all other businesses in a capitalist system.

I don’t hate her but I despise the simp culture that exists today. She’s making a business decision to exploit them but it’s all around sad no matter how you look at it. I just ignore her streams like a normal person and don’t participate or interact with her or her chat.

It really cannot be said enough: the internet was a mistake.
