I just talked to an executive at a very smart tech company that decided not to lay off their entire talent staff during the tech recession, but instead to re-train them to do other critical tasks.  This way, they get people who know the company doing important stuff, and the talent staff will be in place to snatch the

Of course there’s fucking stock buy backs.

Nothing to do with the business and distribution model. It is solely about reporting growth to shareholders, and layoffs are the fastest way to free up cash.  It is short term strategy and happens in every industry. Good old capitalism.

In other, completely unrelated news:

Great. Can’t wait for them to fail and the C suite has to make the incredibly difficult decision of firing everyone but themselves for their incompetence.

I nearly gave up on the game after about 4 hours because every single companion was trying to screw me. It was extremely off putting. We have tadpoles in our heads that are going to turn us into mind flayers, but sure keep hitting on me. I pushed through and it got better, but that beginning section was rough.

Agreed. BG3 is one of my new favorite games, but the overly thirsty companions and jiggle/dangle physics were just too much.

Thank fuck honestly, that’s refreshing. Not every damn rpg needs a dating sim built in.

To me it’s exactly what GamePass is made for, games that I don’t want to shell out full price for but still want to be able to play so I can at least try them out and keep up with what’s going on with games.

Judging from the notes released so far, the answer is, “Nothing that fixes the core problems with Starfield itself.”

It wasn’t so big a surprise for me. I mean, it’s a Bethesda game. Modders have been making the fun for decades.

Any news on them patching fun into the game? Was surprised to see it didn’t make the cut at launch :~)

I know I’m the really odd one out here, but I’d also like to see a re-release of the Gamecube version of MGS. I actually really liked playing that one.

Given their past remasters, there's a good chance that even Konami doesn't have the original source code lol

That is worthless considering the public with no access to source code accomplished more in the first week after release.

Apart from JSR none of them seemed like they’d be full-priced, AAA titles. They looked more like $20-30 small team efforts. I could see an $80-100 bundle down the line (I know the releases will more than likely be spaced out)

Five completely brand new games in a bundle? How much would that bundle be?

If they release them all at once in a bundle they could revive something cool

Very nice. Now if they’d only put out even a remastered version of Skies of Arcadia....or Last Bronx.

For the love of God I don’t understand why they didn’t include streaming from the cloud. I can only guess they don’t want to cut into their console sales, but for a lot of people, not including the author, this device isn’t useful.
