the main problem is exactly what she said it is. it’s not “our public schools.” it’s what State Legislatures are forcing us to teach in our public schools: straight reading comprehension, science, and STEM.

I don’t know if this still happens, but in virtually every social studies / history class I had as a youth, the school year ended before we got up to the 1940s.
