As pissed as I was watching no one intervene in that video, this is one of those rare instances in which I’m actually glad someone recorded it since that’s how they were able to identify and apprehend the dude.

JFC this is heartbreaking. I am so glad she was found alive but I can’t even imagine how helpless her mother felt.

I 100% believe that she would have gotten more traction with the police if her daughter had been white, but in high school, I had a female-white friend who took off and this is exactly the reponse her parents got, almost word for word.

This makes me think of the Jennifer Catcheway case which happened in my home community. Her mother called the RCMP early in the case but was ignored. Her killer still walks free partly because of this. 

Wait am I understanding this right? She basically did all the police work herself to track her daughter down? And had to convince traffickers to let her go? And nooooow police are investigating?

Seconded. CPD seems to regard POC as collateral damage.
