I remember one night when I started to watch a horror flick called The Terror, and guess who trotted across the TV screen playing an officer in Napoleons army but none other than good’ole Jack.

I'm a massive fan of RKO 281. John Malchovich was perfectly cast. My love for that film, as well as Citizen Kane and the whole story of the production was why I was so excited and ultimately so letdown by Mank.

I would actually pay money to purchase a full version of “Everyone is Horrid Except Me (and Possibly You).” I was surprised it was so good, but Bret McKenzie makes sense of that.

Like Livia on Sopranos after the actress died!

It’s okay to say that in 2021 that character would not be conceived the same way and try something new.

He also calls Manjula “my little curry-face” Manjula was also voiced by a white person (RIP Jan Hooks)

That’s what I think is arguably the most damning part. A lot of people say “well, we didn’t know better” and it’s generally accepted, because they can’t change it. This is a show that’s still on the air and has an almost unprecedented opportunity to at least attempt to make amends.

Or at the very least, mention her in the suicide note.

Completely agreed. I also think it showed that Alex has dealt with this thoughtfully for a while, and they understand when people (like Beth) are obviously trying, etc, etc. Whereas with Tess there still is the element (IMHO), that’s very common with some teens when they come out (and a lot of adults either) of being

This.  Beth’s reaction would have probably been the same no matter what the gender of the person Tess was kissing.

Manila was Barbra Streisand on All Stars. Her performance was praised, and I love Manila, but that one was rough. Most of her competitors downright sucked, though, so I’ll agree that it was a comparative win.

I hear you, but it’s hard to understand the motivation for introducing this theme beyond “just because”. S3 “Boobarella” and the S7 John Waters Rusical were also made with little but inspiration through desperation, and they turned out surprisingly well. And they had a definite connection to drag/queer

Similar to the Lucasfilm acquisition. George Lucas had a mandate that his animated feature ‘Strange Magic’ receive a theatrical release. It was absolutely buried in competition and a terrible movie, but it was released.

Thanks for clarifying. I got that you were just referring to what may have been Utica’s intent.

I’m interested to see how they end up looking in the full movie, because despite having the same budgets as Marvel movies DC’s movie CGI often looks a lot shittier for some reason. In just the couple seconds we got in the trailer I would say King Shark already looked better than Cheetah in WW:84's trailer (still

You also have Weasel as a CGI character, so I would expect at least one of them to die to relieve the FX team. King Shark is a main character in the upcoming SS game and has niche popularity so he has good odds to live, but Weasel is played by the director’s brother and it would be much funnier for that hideous

I was surprised watching The Princess Diaries 2 that there's a whole scene where they swoon over a picture of William. I had forgotten that was a whole thing back then.

Paraphrasing what other folks have said, the Squad will likely be whittled down within the first third of the movie into a smaller group of antiheroes.

Honestly, even without Covid I would much rather just watch a movie at home.

“But it’s also a movie full of choices that just make you go “huh?”
