Ug! This! My biggest complaint ongoing.

Sorry, I really gave the wrong tone in my post. I agree with you on this, I was just really most surprised no one here had mentioned the Fergus rape thing when comparing Black Jack and Bonnet.

Claire asks about the protection thing before she knows the rape happened. She was only thinking about the sex with Roger at that time.

...or at the very least, given a few more years to finish marinating.

michelle gomez is a goddamn treasure and I love her.

Yeah, my dad was able to just call up, and subsequently spend an afternoon with, Stan Laurel. Imagine a modern celebrity trying that?

I think it would be cool to revisit the aliens from Demons of the Punjab, with maybe the Doctor being the one who shows them the error of their ways and changes them from assassins to penitents.

Adawehi is the same character that you’re thinking of from the books and the exact same thing happens to the book character.

I agree she came across as a novice actress, though I think she did pretty well. I’m sure she’ll get better as she gets more roles.

My mind went to the Cowboy Bebop episode where Spike meets a talking frog while tripping balls.

So agree with you

I appreciate that. I do think some fans have a tendency to hold the books so far above the TV show that they don’t acknowledge the difficulty of adapting the books faithfully while trying to handle some of this tricky stuff (subject wise as well as in terms of just bringing it to a new medium).   (And I say that

Prem was such a great person.

The whole family really, usually one off characters don’t feel like they have a history. This time they all did, which made the episode work so much better.

As soon as I saw The Pting I thought “Well, there’s a Pop Vinyl waiting to happen”

Whenever I diet I like to imagine my adipose leaving me there with the little tiny creatures walking away- but with a more positive end.

My mind immediately jumped to the Adipose as soon as I saw the Pting — a cute but deadly creature — but man, the CGI effects of the Adipose really doesn’t hold up today. It’ll be interesting to revisit this episode in a decade and see if the Pting fares any better.

The Pting was a fun cute yet horrible monster. The setup reminded me of John Carpenter’s Dark Star, a more comic precursor to Alien (both written by Dan O’Bannon) with a cute monster running horrifyingly amok on a spaceship.

Yeah, I’m fine with two really good seasons of American Vandal. Any more feels like overkill.

Most likely not. I’m Canadian and I’ve never heard of him before tonight, so I suppose same thing goes for the UK. As a kid I was taught about Rosa Parks and MLK, but that was pretty much it.
