There’s something very obnoxious about this article’s choice to seemingly neg Bridgit Mendler for not being famous enough when she’s clearly an extremely accomplished woman.

Because they knew they’d get all the money in the divorce because he hadn’t learned the words “pre-nup?”
The only reason 2024 doesn’t have 3 is the strike.
I suspect it was cut from Life of Brian because it’s already in Spamalot and that’s probably part of what Cleese is annoyed about (and knowing Idle, he probably kept some extra chunk of that song for himself since he was the primary writer).
Palin’s diaries are so eye-opening in that regard. Not that Idle was always right or that he was excessively savvier than all of them, but there is a very interesting mix of “I’m just glad someone’s letting me do this” (Palin) with some “don’t commercialize the art” (Cleese/Jones/Gilliam) and “whatever” (Chapman).…
You would be wrong - Cleese is notoriously broke because he had several very expensive divorced including one relatively recently.
It does and if it was the first one, he repeatedly talks about John being mean to Eric and not liking Eric.
If you read any book about Python including Michael Palin’s, it seems very, very true that he and Cleese always hated each other, tbh.
I have to admit though reading Palin’s diaries sometimes he comments on things Idle wants them to do or thinks they should do from a business standpoint and a part of me is like “bestie, he sounds right.”
Michael Palin’s diaries are really eye opening to how things were within the group and notably, Eric Idle was always very focused on the business side to the point of the others failing to recognize why that mattered so much (and he’s not wrong, tbh, but you can tell the others are either not happy with compromising…
If you read literally any of Palin’s books, it’s always been clear Idle and Cleese hate each other. Idle also tended to be the most money-focused.
I think trying to link “Sony does things to keep the rights to the small pool of characters it has” to The Marvels as proof of anything is probably a stretch. The Marvels performed poorly. Deadpool and Wolverine is almost certainly going to make bank. Echo, Loki, and pretty much everything else they throw on D+…
I mean he’s talking about who got the show.
I believe she is arguing that this was not an accurate representation. I’m totally cool with that interpretation, but was giving the benefit of the doubt that her complaint was accurate (just still problematic)
Exactly.
Yes, but certain actions are still protected and if you can prove that it was retaliatory or infringed on your rights, you can file a discrimination claim. For example, if she can prove that she was treated differently than others in the same situation. From the actions Disney took, it looks like they anticipated that…
In the grand scheme of things, the heavy hitters are on their way to profitability. Disney lost 1.3 million subscribers but has 149 million subscribers and closed their financial losses by $300 million last year. For me, Disney+ is still worth the cost because it gets a lot of use in my house. Other services tend to…
It’s looking likely that Hulu and Disney+ are going to become one service sooner rather than later and ESPN will probably be rolled into the new sports partnership.
I once had to deal with a worker who HR had dubbed “high risk for litigation” and essentially for cover, we had to do a lot of stuff it appears Disney did with Carano - provide opportunities to correct the behavior, give the option to make amends with co-workers, and then part ways. She doesn’t just have to show that…
Disney also gave her multiple chances to conform with company policy before letting her go. That alone with the morality clause in her contract likely gives them cover.
