I’m sure this conversation did start pre-strike, but the timing seems purposeful.

Ortega just dropped out so if that was their goal, they fumbled.
I’ll be honest - while I enjoyed Miracle Workers, it always kind of baffled me that it ran for four seasons. It feels like a “we should be happy for what we got” situation.
Also along the line of “putting morals and ethics aside for a moment” to focus on the PR - The current iteration of Scream is very much a Gen Z franchise and the polls show that Gen Z is aligned with Barrera on this one. It also called attention to an actress whose comments were probably little noticed by most people…
Someone on Threads suggested there was a comment where she said that the “Jews control the media.” If true, I can see where that crossed a line, but I haven’t seen any corroboration and the rest of her posts were very “Remember: the Israeli government are not representative of all Jewish people” so it seems surprising…
Putting it on after their highest rated show that isn’t a sporting event might not be the best nail in its coffin.
Yeah, I’d get it if it was a very poorly received show or one with weak ratings (or even just super old), but it’s like “yes, this highly rated show is still on the air.”
Animal Control I get a little bit more. I didn’t see that getting renewed, but putting the two together like that was ... weird.
I get the sass, but I’m pretty sure Masked Singer is one of Fox’s highest rated shows so it seems like they are likely trying to use that to feed into Family Guy and hoping that will all help Animal Control.
Amy Schumer and Sarah Silverman made far more incendiary comments than those. Even if you don’t agree with Barrera, this feels very post-9/11 not supporting the troops enough. Those vibes didn’t age well.
I think with everything going on in the world, we’re probably pretty far past “Bradley Cooper’s nose is the most antisemitic thing out in the world right now.”
Checking the ammo is against Union rules.
I don’t know if the show will get into this in anyway, but I think there is something to be said that she - like many people - is more of a myth *because* she died. Her death hangs heavy over the show (and the real royal family) because nothing can really ever tarnish her image. Had she lived, had she stayed with…
From a dramatic standpoint, the show has also had to grapple with Charles’s transformation from extremely sympathetic young man who is awkward and struggling with parents he has a cold relationship with (beautifully played by Josh O’Connor) and transition him into a cold, rude, probably abusive, very unliked adult…
Someone in the DA’s office must be showing her all the precedent from other on set accidents that will make these charges extremely hard to stick.
Similarly, no charges were ultimately brought in the Brandon Lee case against the actor who fired the gun specifically because it was deemed it wasn’t his job to check for real bullets. Short of proving Baldwin put the bullets in the gun or messed with the gun after it was handed to him, it seems extremely unlikely…
Checking for ammo is against union regulations. If he had done that, he would have been violating on set safety protocols.
I’m not sure who allegedly leaked the videos (i.e. Baldwin’s camp or the prosecutors), but is this supposedly making Baldwin seem more guilty? Because actor repeatedly bringing up safety and being reassured everything is fine by the people in charge of safety says it’s fine does seem to suggest Baldwin did not…
What a mean spirited headline and article that is just about an actor talking about something he likes.
I just don’t know how WBD is so bad at PR.
