If her presidential manner is anything like her character in Twin Peaks, there’ll won’t be any more nonsense.

David Lynch approves.

Hell YES Laura Dern can get any organization straightened out and banish tomfoolery of every type! She can shut Albert down; She texts with EvilCoop; She is a deputized member of the Blue Rose Task Force; She smokes in morgues; She can . . . what? that’s just a role she plays?

If she wins and you do not title the article “Woman Inherits The Earth” I will riot.

I’m so knee-deep in Drag Race videos as I avoid work right now that I was genuinely confused why the title said “history” instead of, in this case, “herstory.”

Apropos of nothing apart from her being Hollywood royalty, here’s one of her first appearances, age 7, as a little girl in glasses eating soft-serve ice cream at Mel’s Diner in the Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore (starring her mom as Flo)

And? What is your concern here? If the child decides she’s uncomfortable with transition she’ll still have the knowledge of love and support from friends and family she would have had with any other decision. I doubt any parent would be disappointed that their child was not actually trans.

Okay folks so I *know* it’s gonna come up and I’ll just try to get ahead of it here:

So when can her work be shown again? What is the time period between the Biennial and when it won’t be seen as opportunistic to do a Schutz exhibition.

Shows are planned (most of the time) about 2 years in advance. And no, it’s not common to cancel or postpone them on short notice without something else to fill the space in your calendar, which takes more than a few months to pull together. (And no, I don’t work there but I do work at a museum)

that’s the distinction I would make as well. It was tone-deaf, but not outright malicious. Take the painting down, she won’t profit from it, and let her show continue. If the error in judgment was recognized, what more can we want that doesn’t lead to censorship or outright maliciousness on our part?

I can’t help but think banning someone for having painted a single controversial work is a bit much.
