I originally thought with a skim of the news that he threatened to kill himself and she was just “fine do it”. But reading over the coverage the amount of effort into convincing him is insane. Plus she was on the phone the whole time and prevented him from stopping and did not call EMS.

Yeah, basically - she directly contributed to his death by encouraging him to do it and doing nothing to prevent it, while having full knowledge that is was occurring (and where and how it was occurring). It’s a fairly high threshold to overcome if you want to prosecute.

I feel like there’s a huge difference between, “You have a right to take your own life, here are tips on how to do it so that it is as painless and peaceful as possible,” and telling someone to get back in the car when they decide at the last minute that they don’t want to commit suicide and are scared. You know?

(Please know that I’m not going after you. I’ve just seen a lot of excuses for the young woman and it’s making the flames come out of my ears a little bit.)

The whole point of the justice system is that they look at the facts of every single case.
