I don’t love it

This is just awful, that poor girl, her friends and family. So glad that monster has been arrested (and so quickly).

I don’t think she was jealous at all. Nancy dragged her to the party (Barb didn’t want to go!) to basically keep her from sleeping with Steve/getting drunk. Barb does her job like a true friend and Nancy is like “nevermind you can go.” I’m glad they didn’t go slut shamey and kill Nancy like lots of horror movies do,

Of all the objectively terrifying things Republicans are doing to this country right now, and all of it’s pretty horrific, nothing bothers me half as much as their complete silence as Trump enables all the shitty racists with his rhetoric.

Could we get an edit on that headline and remove the word “captured”? She was a young girl, not an escaped convict or an animal that needed to be picked up somewhere. She was not captured. She was abducted. She was kidnapped and murdered.

Yet detectives state that they have “not gotten any indication that this was motivated by hate or bias.”

I keep telling him this is America and people are welcoming and loving here

I found out about this from my dad. After having dinner with him, he sent me and my sister a text saying he loves us and not to go anywhere alone for the next few days.

Barb became the unwitting avatar for all of us who came of age in this time period knowing we were not the Lead, but the Friend.

Same here. I just can’t imagine why this had to happen?!? What is wrong with the world. How can anyone do this someone?!? This is beyond horrific—it’s plain EVIL.

Seriously. I was so sad about Benny.

I have no coherent thought besides ugly crying. What the hell kind of world are we living in?

Gee, um... I guess you just don’t get it. *shrug*

I saw Stranger Things a few months after it appeared, and didn’t even know about the Internet’s call for justice for her character.

I think that’s partly it. Like, as a spear carrier she was kind of the everywoman. Those of us who weren’t the cool one, or the noticeable one, or anything, who just shut up and went to class, being treated as disposable by proxy brings up some negative shit.

I just really want her glasses.

I agree. I think people cared so much about her because she seemed so neglected as a person by her friends and then by the show itself. But she’s dead, we saw her be dead.

I think both. For me it seemed like they introduced her as a significant character...and then just forgot about her.
