Thank you for validating me on that stinker Live and Let Dine. The Papal Chase is also so solidly hilarious. Midnight Ron is a staple. Those are go-tos. I probably would have been cool with Dreamland, but I wanted more/better jokes. I’m sure people say that about Vice which I thought was hilarious.

I’ve dodged some major bullets by being selective: White Thanksgiving with a gourmet cook = win. White Thanksgiving in West Virginia = terrifying but they threw down. They had like 4 turkeys each prepared a different way. What?

A go-to for me is, “I’d have some but I’m a supertaster. You haven’t heard of it? It’s a thing, go google it.” Then I make a quick exit.

I liked Season 6 better than Dreamland, which was a little too unfamiliar to carry the season (and both are better than season 4 which I think was the weakest). But Archer is one of the handful of shows with solid laughs all the time. The joke ratio is off the charts.

I refuse to ever actively bet against Danai Gurira because she’s amazing and I love her. Plus, if I was forced to watch either All Eyez on Me or Kidnap, I’d go with the former. I feel the same way about The Mountain Between Us, which seems crazy because: Idris Elba.

Is that the show on Starz? I keep seeing it scroll by when I log in to watch other shows. So, it’s good?

A samosa-filled puff pastry sounds intriguing...

I watched only the first half of the first season. Really that’s where I should have started. There were so many strong elements that I just couldn’t appreciate for the total miscast of Eliza Dushku, bless her heart.

Yet again I’ll ask myself, “Should I finish watching Dollhouse?” I always say I should, but I never do.

I feel like if one isn’t going to commit to making a tasty dressing then just use the boxed stuff. Box > nastiness from scratch.

I have a soft spot for Galveston. It’s not a stellar beach, but I agree that it’s a perfectly fine option for a day trip.

I am, of course, partial to my beloved San Antonio and Hill Country (a great option for an overnight trip, just sayin’), but Houston is fun. For me, it’s a city where I have to do a little more research to know what I should hit up. It’s spread out, so planning how to navigate places to visit beforehand is really

Yes to all of this!

I think you have some good points about promoting productivity and sharing ideas, but I think your assumptions miss the mark. There are other ways you can build those relationships and foster the activities you’re talking about without going to these types of events. Maybe it’s work happy hours. Or maybe its sitting

Colin Farrell is only as good as his material. If he’s given decent stuff, he’s solid and he’s a reliably diverse actor in terms of the genres he can pull off. But he doesn’t have the chops to really elevate anything.

I don’t like the big happy hour events (I’m okay with the small group ones). So when I know that’s the vibe, I’ll just do a “drive-by” where I stop by for like 5 minutes and tell select people that I have somewhere else I need to be, but I did want to stop in and say hi. You get points for making an effort without

I don’t think it’s about having a stronger or weaker constitution, it’s just knowing your needs and finding a space that maximizes what you want while minimizing what annoys you.

This is my thing too. It’s not cost-effective for me to own property when I’ve moved so much and have no real inclination to put down roots. Nor to I want or need the space.

Dew Drop Inn came up too (I couldn’t remember the name). I’ve seen it from that overpass bridge but don’t actually know where it is. One day soon...

I want Maple right now. I was just talking about Brookland Pint, which is closer to where I live now anyway. I’ve only been to the bar and have never eaten there, but I like it. I like the Right Proper Tasting Room over there too. The bartenders are awesome.
