It’s ECLECTIC!

I love this suggestion! I have some podcasts that are only about 7-10 min. long, and some that are longer (for when I’m cleaning pots and pans, bigger items that require hand washing). Thanks for posting this!

This is what I eventually learned to do instead of wasting time cleaning the tub (I can’t let someone see how dirty this is) or leaving dishes in the sink. I could only afford a cleaner about every 2 months, so I made sure to move all of the clutter out of the way so she could focus on mopping floors/baseboards (which

She can do/convey so much just by moving her eyebrows!! I’m not super into bloody stuff, but I loved this first episode (and it really wasn’t too, TOO bad)!

Yes— my hands look so much better now that I’ve stuck with using my gloves. I like to get that water HOT, and the soap was really drying out my hands. I will keep using gloves as much as I can! I feel like I work faster and am less squicked out by the process.

Most news contracts (at least when I was working there) had a pretty standard non-compete clause. You couldn’t go work for a competing station for anywhere from 6 months to (more likely) a year. So if you did lose your job, you had to leave the market. A lot of these anchors are settled down with kids, families, etc

My mother grew up poor and never learned how to handle money. She wouldn’t even open bills because, in her thinking, she didn’t have the money, so what’s the point. It led to a car being repossessed because she was afraid to pick up the phone (even though the check had been mailed) and talk to anyone/feel the shame.

I always say I’m going to do this on Sunday night so I don’t just go plowing into my new week. I’m making a calendar reminder right now!!!

I remember as a kid (whose parents divorced) feeling in awe that a dad would want to be so involved in his kids’ lives, and yet feeling so frustrated that he didn’t want to do any of the work. Now I just feel the annoyance. Grow the F up, Daniel.

My husband has RP and has a very hard time adjusting from outdoor to indoor light. I am often asking the hostess to slow down because they take off for our table and leave us yards and yards behind while he’s trying to navigate in a room that’s about 10x darker for him than it is for us.

But are the women allowed to eat? They’re just supposed to live on air and sunshine, I thought, so as not to gain any weight during production....

Also, I definitely expected her parents to be up to no good, but the naive white girl in me thought perhaps Rose had matured a bit from her parents’ potentially racist view points (as someone who has broken off entirely from certain family members, perhaps I was projecting too hopefully).

He is very smart, but yes, clearly I was in the minority for not being more suspicious of the seemingly-woke white girl! He does have an annoying habit of seeing twists coming in most movies— I assume it’s his lawyer brain assuming the worst of people? He has a few work friends who have gone full Trump and now feel

I was white enough to think maybe (JUST MAYBE) she was defending her boyfriend from attackers— also, I tried to avoid all articles/discussions of it and saw it pretty quickly. I hate hate HATE spoilers, and I’m also great in general with suspension of disbelief in the movies!

I watched a second time with my husband (we are both white) on demand after I’d already seen it once in the theatre, and he called her out in the opening scene at their apartment. He just said ‘I don’t trust her— he’d better watch out for her.’ I couldn’t even pretend— I let out an exasperated sigh and said “How do

I was very young and surrounded by adults terrified of gay people. Seeing that handshake blew my young mind and shattered stereotypes that I thought were fact.

As a news producer, I didn’t have any say in hires, but you know for damn sure her (former) colleagues are going over every conversation they ever had with her. I don’t doubt that there are plenty more like her in positions of power, though.

We got married on Martha’s Vineyard (we live in NYC) in the shoulder season (mid-April) and had an amazing wedding for about half what we could find anywhere in NY. Hotels were 75-100 per night, they threw in a free hors d’oeuvres mixer (including oysters!) before the reception, waived the location fee, and while it

“If you secretly hate half of your hangers, replace them. You are required to do the Mommy Dearest scene. Ham it up. Explore the space.” — Thank you for this.

That sentiment is exactly why I started sending out my laundry. I decided my time was worth more than spending 3-4 hours every Saturday at the laundromat. I found a sparkling clean laundromat that would pick up my laundry in the morning and have it washed, folded, and ready for me that night when I got home from work.
