i just tell myself that these people work in the firearm industry, and thus they can’t help themselves. like, none of my billionaire playboy philanthropist friends can take Iron Man seriously.

maybe in the movie, Batman infiltrates the enemy camp early on, and replaces all of their ammo with blanks. i dunno, for like a prank video.

i’m assuming the other Ezra Miller is Burtonverse’s version of Barry Allen, complete with living mother. but what if he’s actually just playing himself? as in, Barry Allen must team up with Supergirl, two Batmans, and actor Ezra Miller to save the multiverse. now that would grab my attention.

this timeline needs an enema!

Miller’s helmet looks CGI in the thumbnail

because he’s a gamer. when he’s fighting, it’ll go full RGB rainbow.

not that there’s anything substantiating this, but what if like in a few months we find out that Michael Keaton has been a racist trans/homophobic sexual predator this whole time?! what would DC do? maybe CGI Val Kilmer’s face in at the last minute? two Ben Afflecks?

isn’t this just “Flashpoint” in name only? why are there two Bruce Wayne Batmans and no Thomas Wayne Batman? where are the rest of the altered-world Justice League? it appears that they’ve abandoned the original Flashpoint story altogether, so no saying what’s needed for this movie at this point. Into the Spider-verse

The Suicide Squad felt like a step in the right direction, and The Batman is looking good. maybe adding “The” is the secret sauce.

that feels like an oversimplification of why he brought it up. what about the parts of how the trans community turned their back on Daphne after tweeting in support of Dave? was it not all a demonstration in the larger message about the dangers of outrage for the sake of outrage and the “you’re either with us or

There are jokes, then there’s people just wanting the green light to be complete a—holes b/c they feel better about themselves by attacking others they perceive to be “the lesser.”

you’d be better off asking why you are so comfortable with hate speech masquerading as humor

i guess my thoughts on this are that there is a difference between “anti-trans jokes” and “jokes at the expense of trans”, where one is rooted in hate and the other isn’t, and trying to figure out the threshold for what is considered “hate speech”.

no, i’m saying the targets of his hate speech aren’t providing a clear picture of what he did (from what i’ve seen so far), as it’s written in an emotional state. i’m not surprised by this. it’s good that they’re speaking their mind and how they feel, but it’s obviously biased, and doesn’t provide a reliable account

oof. i mean, as their roommate, i expect they have much deeper insight into this whole situation. but some things that kind of struck me odd about this post.

i think what OP is saying though, and what i’m having trouble understanding, and what i think Dave Chappelle was getting at is - while we can agree transphobia and hate speech are deplorable concepts, are Dave Chappelle’s jokes actually transphobic hate speech? at least are they any more X-phobic and hateful than his

nah not that at all. actually quite the opposite. that article and others like it seem to be written by people who extremely dislike Chappelle. i had a hard time navigating through the presentation of their viewpoint from all the shade. i’m essentially only seeing both extremes of the topic. IMO all that does is

thanks for contributing to the conversation, but your comment does not help move anything forward.

i mean, i get that he made jokes about gender that could be interpreted as offensive or cliche, but what i don’t get is what about these jokes are worth protesting, compared to his other jokes about race, religion, etc. if his trans jokes are hate speech, all of his material is hate speech, and furthermore, 90% of

is this movie a oneoff sequel or are they planning to do a whole second trilogy? because part of me is expecting that this movie ends with Yahya dying, and then Neo/Trinity going on some quest that ends with Lawrence Fishburne on some Scottish Island?
