I can’t stand people who think that everyone wants to hear the story behind/symbolism of their tattoos. I say this as a tattooed person.

Abidabi just said everything I was gonna say - good show! Also, I did not dig the mocking photo montage - I don’t see what it adds to this story, and furthermore those folks don’t deserve this noise. I could also be a little salty about this because I like that yarn tattoo.

I don’t want dick head clients telling me what I should and shouldn’t be willing to do for a buck. So I guess that’s why it’s a good thing they went their separate ways. Consent and the importance of comfort in a situation goes both ways. The artist has the upper hand in this situation and doesn't owe anyone anything.

and you are publicly shaming him because...?

This whole rant reeks of WELL CAN I SPEAK TO YOUR MANAGER THEN?

The shop has a policy of no neck/no hands. It’s extremely common (as she found out)...why do people not understand that shops are a place of business and they can have any rules that they want to?

Nothing to do with her person or the type of tattoo. Plain and simple. don’t like it? go somewhere else. which she

I don’t think so. Some of his tattoos looked very good. Posting them on the internet as a way to poke fun (not only at him, but at the people who chose those tattoos, who the author does NOT know personally) is beyond petty.

Wow.

Shout out to the tattoo artist who refused to give me a tattoo when I wanted one. I was pissed off at my parents and would have really regretted it. Instead he got me to do a belly button piercing, and said if I wanted a tattoo when I wasn't super pissed off he or one of the artists would love to help me pick the

Not for nothing, but he didn’t tell you that you couldn’t get a neck tattoo, he said he wouldn’t give you a neck tattoo.

Yes! PREACH!!!

Nope, totally with Dan on this one. Took me a long time to find someone to tattoo my hands. If you want a neck tattoo so bad, Jane, instead of smearing artists who say no, just go to a parlor where gang members go. They’ll hook you up, no problem.

No neck/face/hands is a very, VERY, common tattoo parlor policy. I have a lot of large tattoos (upper back and both upper arms are mostly covered). My artist still would not give me a neck/face/hand tattoo. He also doesn’t do wedding ring or edge of foot tattoos because they don’t last.

It’s fine to have your heart

He also had every right to object doing it.

As others have pointed out, some tattoo artists have strict policies of where they will not tattoo. Mostly I have heard that most artists won’t tattoo the face, and I haven’t heard too many of turning down neck tattoos. But regardless, every tattoo that the artist does is a reflection of their portfolio, and their

Female artist here. Don’t tattoo faces, necks, hands or genitals as standard. My choice. If anyone wants to bitch they can go elsewhere because guess what, artists are not machines and are allowed to have some agency over who and what they tattoo. Just as I don’t need to tattoo a swastika and white power slogans on

My guy refuses to do certain designs and in certain areas. I've never tbought poorly of him because of that and if anything, I respect him that much more for sticking to his guns.

My thoughts EXACTLY

So he refused to perform a service he was uncomfortable with—artists are allowed to turn down commissions—and you are publicly shaming him because...?

I respect that artist who refused. For whatever reason.
