OMG what a fantastic comparison.
OMG what a fantastic comparison.
“Senior prosecutor Joan Illuzzi said in Manhattan Criminal Court on Wednesday, adding that Amy had used police in a fashion that was “both racially offensive and designed to intimidate...”
Ever been to traffic school? I’m guessing that’s about how effective it is. And I’m talking about the traffic school where you just pay and grab a certificate.
Sorry for the double post—I meant to reply to you, not Maria.
Honestly they’re probably not that effective because our criminal “justice” systems emphasizes punishment and incarceration over rehabilitation, so even though the intention behind this kind of legal consequence is good, I doubt that a lot of resources have been put into developing a really solid system. Even in NY.
She deserves a harsher sentence. This is disgusting and no amount of “education” is going to change a woman who purposely used the police to try to lynch this man. She knew what she was doing, so “educating” her doesn’t make sense.
Amy Cooper knew her actions would either get Christian Cooper killed or falsely imprisoned. She did this because he asked her nicely to put her dog on a leash. This is the act of an evil person. Period.
Correct, Royal should always be spelled with an uppercase r. And they're pretty sticky with their spelling/grammar there.
Is this the new season of The Affair that no one wanted? That show should have been a limited run one season series. I didn’t make it through the final season when Joshua Jackson left.
Catherine FitzGerald, a member of an Irish royal dynasty
As an Irish woman who has only ever seen guns in a museum, outside the US embassy in London or in Vancouver airport, that is a very depressing post.
Handing out notes to the crowd seems deeply weird. You’re there, the press is there, why not just say “our marriage is strong and we’re very much still together. Thank you.”?
Obligatory for Adele:
Hmm I follow Mindy on Ista and I had no idea. Either she’s great at concealing a belly bump (there were lots of pics of her inside playhouses and behind desks) or used a surrogate.
I think we can do both. We can cheer for making independent choices about her family while being curious about how she did it. She doesn’t have to tell us anything, but we’re not bad people for wondering aloud.
“she’s just leaning into the litigious nature of our culture and seeing if she can shake a famous down for some petty cash”
I can’t imagine taking care of two kids on my own. I mean, I’m divorced so I do it half the week but then they go to their dad’s and I take a big sigh of relief and clean my bathroom. And also they are older so they don’t need diaper changes. I know Mindy can afford help but man. Applause to her and all of the other…
Wow, an AVClub where everyone loses: Sam Barsanti is an insufferable, unimaginative clickbaiting twat; JK Rowling is a bizarrely committed transphobic bigot, and Eddie Redmayne is a dimwitted, terrible actor whose views aren’t worth a cup of warm piss. Trifecta, everyone.
We, white men, will never cease to disappoint.
Its a shame facing reality is so hard for you.
