I like to think his award was as much for his Ted Cruz tweets as for Chernobyl.

Ah, but they have awarded it for past seasons, many times over. This was just the voters being lazy. (And I’m thrilled they overcame that laziness to reward Fleabag.)
I just realized that I only actually heard the real “Smelly Cat” as performed by Kudrow a handful of times. Unless you’d VCR’d the original or repeat airings, you couldn’t just watch it whenever you wanted. I wonder if everyone would love it so much if it had gone viral back then and could be YouTubed until we were…

I loved 30 Rock (hence my screenname), but I also hate legacy awards. The same actors winning year after year is particularly frustrating. Sure, they might deserve to be celebrated... but their greatness has already been acknowledged. Spread the damn wealth, folks.
I really wouldn’t mind giving Veep and Louis-Dreyfus a well-deserved win this season... if they hadn’t won EVERY OTHER SEASON.
I’m going into the awards with very low expectations, since I’ve been burned in the past (the Academy will try and find a way to give Veep some awards next year, just because), but oh, I would be THRILLED if Fleabag and Phoebe Waller-Bridge walked away with some awards.
Wholly agreed. I barely even glance at their political coverage. I subscribe because of everything else they do. (Plus, as a teacher, I get a really cheap rate.)
Ah, good! Might be worth dropping by next time you’re near a store. Like I said, the sizing is very inconsistent, but I can almost always find several things that fit and are even somewhat flattering.
Really? That’s interesting. I’m 5'9" and 225 lbs.-- very much “plus-sized” -- and I can wear pretty much everything in an Old Navy, usually in XXL and 16/18. The only drawback is that their sizing is wildly inconsistent, so I have to try on everything.
I love the Pixie pants from last year, and thanks to their ridiculous vanity sizing, my plus-sized butt can wear pretty much everything in the store. That said, I wish their sizing would be consistent. I bought a pair of their skinny-cut Rockstar pants in an 18 back in December, and I loved the fit. When I went back…
I grew up in the ‘80s, so my feet’s formative years were spent in very pointy-toed shoes. Right after college, I had to get bunion surgery on both feet due to really crooked toes. That’s when I switched to flats and shoes with very wide toes. The bunions have never returned.
That’s me every time I scroll the trending Twitter hashtags and see “#JimmyCarter”.
I’m a high school teacher, and one of my students recently told me about her dream to attend Liberty University. My heart sank. (But of course I was supportive!)
I have never been to Blaze because I’m irrationally annoyed by their bizarre punctuation. Why the hell is there an apostrophe in “Fired”?
So glad to hear that -- I thought I was the only one who found it wildly overrated. (And these reviews are giving me a bit of delicious schadenfreude.)
I listen to way too many true crime podcasts, and I’m both amused and horrified that so many are sponsored by SimpliSafe, the home security company. That’s a genius pairing... and deeply cynical.
(I have nothing worthwhile to say in response, but I wanted to acknowledge - beyond just a star -- that this is an excellent and fascinating comment!)
Oh, wow. One of my students’ mothers has the exact same Gosselin haircut, and I never could figure out why it looks so familiar. This is both a relief and the fodder for nightmares.
I did not know that (and I’ve lived in Atlanta for twenty years.) I will definitely file that away in my brain. Fascinating.
