I can actually live with “kiddo”, just because that one has been around for ages (I remember my mother using it when I was growing up in the ‘80s.) Everything else, though? UGH. Hell, I even cringe when people say “puke” instead of “vomit”.  Yes, I’m weird that way.

I used to think that all these folks were just trying to increase name recognition for a possible Vice Presidential slot on the ticket. Now I suspect some of them actually believe they could win. Yikes.

Plus, yesterday she tweeted a photo with Jameela Jamil and captioned it with, “Forking awesome!”

Agreed. As an Atlantan, I want a blue “Stacey Abrams. Senator” bumper sticker to match my current “Stacey Abrams. Governor” one.

I once saw someone describe them as text-to-voice robots. The podcast material isn’t bad, but the hosts are just... unnervingly awful.

Were the planes carrying a cargo load of hot fruit?

The funny thing is that if The Middleman had debuted in 2019 on one of the streaming services, it would probably be a huge hit.

I’m pretty sure it was Avenatti saying he wanted to run for president, with the rest of us saying, “Yeeeeeeeeah... no.”

He has a podcast right now -- “To Live and Die in L.A.” -- and it is horribly trashy and exploitative of a dead woman’s family and friends/associates. So, yup. Some douchebags never change.

Betty, Ike, and Glenn? Does this movie take place in 1953?

Dammit! Beat me to it. (And I like hot fruit, so there, Schur. Hmph.)

Last week I googled “vaccine exemption private schools” after reading a WaPo article about an outbreak at a Waldorf School. The top three results were anti-vaxxer sites that did not announce their allegiance.

As a Georgian, I was pinning my hopes on Stacey Abrams staying somewhat locally-focused (and planning to replace my “Stacey Abrams Governor” bumper sticker with “Stacey Abrams Senator”). I still think it might be a wee bit too early for her to be President*, but hey, I’d be on board with her in the Naval Observatory!

I went into this season rather resentful that they decamped from my Atlanta, thus crushing my dreams that they might take me on as a project. But I gotta say that y’all turned up quite well!

Ah, you’re right! I was going by memory. Guess this gives me an excuse to rewatch!

A few years ago, I read an excellent essay by a local economics professor, about the burgeoning film industry here in Atlanta and how it’s having a hard time finding technical/behind-the-scenes workers. The economist said, “The problem is that almost every parent says, ‘I want my baby to grow up to attend Harvard.’

Oooh, did you figure out whether the secret ingredient was cardamom?

OT, but your mentioning Kai Ryssdal brought me back to those halycon college days when I saw a photo of David Brancaccio and was shocked by how hot that public radio guy was. So I just googled him, and my first reaction: “Wow, he’s old!” followed by, “Oh, crap, I AM ALSO OLD.”

FWIW, the owner/manager of my local indie place told me that they loved MoviePass. It brought in a lot of customers who might not have otherwise known about the theater, and those people usually bought concessions. And even if MP corporate was a mess, the theater still got reimbursed.
