Charlemagne? I see him more as a Genghis Khan.

Gotta admit, a tiny part of me wishes Julian Castro would run with Joaquin as his VP. Just imagine all the twin hijinx!

Oh, FFS. It’s called a dog whistle. Everyone knows exactly what Trump meant. It’s like a bully who calls another kid gay then bats their lashes and snickers, “But ‘gay’ means ‘happy’!”

Ive been following her case off-and-on for the past month. As soon as I saw the mugshot of who they’d arrested, I sighed and muttered, “Here we go.” Railing against illegal immigrants is easy. Dealing with toxic masculinity is hard.

You were smart. Alas, you also didn’t have the luxury of,Oh, who cares about the overdraft? Campaign funds will cover it.”

Im a fourth-generation Texan (now in Atlanta), though I went to Trinity so I didn’t pay much attention to college football. I just googled “A&M SMU sword cheerleader”, and WOW. That is crazy... and totally a hardcore Aggie thing to do.

Hell, they were there when I lived in Houston in 97-99.

A few years ago, I remember someone in Gawker comments complaining that CFAs hiring policies were “super-racist. I stop at a Dwarf House (sort of a CFA flagship) in metro Atlanta several times a week because it’s really convenient for my morning commute. This is a corporate store, so I can’t speak to any racism

The grocery store at Park Row & Bowen Rd. in Arlington, TX, has a full-service Starbucks. Then, when you’re done shopping, you can walk a few hundred yards across the parking lot to get to a drive-thru Starbucks.

Can’t link on my phone, but Samantha Bee recently did a segment on the grossness of prison rape “jokes”.

OT, but who else saw Crazy Rich Asians this weekend? It surpassed expectations at the box office, and I was thrilled to contribute! Such a delightful movie!

Remember: it’s “An Emmy for Megan”, not “Two Emmy Nominations for Megan”.

Reminds me of how every time a gentrification debate breaks out on my city’s Curbed or subreddit, all these people who would likely consider themselves hipster liberals (or whatever the kids call it these days) will start screaming out the benefits of gentrification and how rising property values will only HELP poor

Here in Atlanta (and probably everywhere else), we’re in the midst of a big debate about “affordable housing” near downtown and in hip neighborhoods. The consensus is that the “affordable” threshold is $200,000 for a starter house/condo/townhome (and that price point is nearly impossible to find.) What gets me is that

I’d be interested in AMC, but my local only shows a handful of art house movies. And I mainly used MoviePass at the local family-owned indie (which loves MP) and the Landmark.

Hmm. I purchased an annual subscription directly from MoviePass in March because it was a great deal, and I’ve gotten my money’s worth. I could ask Citi for a chargeback, but I haven’t really been shafted - especially since the surge pricing didn’t affect the annual subscriptions.

Gemini and Clementine:

Does that include my late, dearly beloved cat Queso?

Random fact: the 2008 campaign offered bumper stickers that said, “’Bama for Obama”. (My favorite, though, was “Irish-Americans for O’Bama”.)
