i think his focus was on the short term gain at the expense of the long term, in modern capitalism that means maxing out this quarter even if that means losing all your workers and polluting the environment, etc. which will hurt the long term.

“To help the most vulnerable in society, you need real change from people who are actual progressives.”

Yes, thank you! I read this quote above “But even the most pessimistic of predictions, the biggest body counts anticipated by the most jaded oddsmakers, didn’t account for the bleak place Infinity War leaves its audience” and I thought, Hell, after reading comics for so many years, I just figured they’d pull a Rogue

Me usually bristle at commenters attacking articles as clickbait, but this one was pretty stupid. “Hey, you may not have noticed this thing in Avengers that we all directly saw happen on screen and was talked about in movie.” It like saying “you’ll never believe what biblical relic Indiana Jones was looking for in Raid

Just about everyone that dies in this film will come back in the sequel. Those who die in the sequal may be permanently toast, though, as actor contracts are coming to end.

I feel like the ones who survived the Infinity Gauntlet will be the ones dying in the next film, presumably in sacrifice for their more fresh-faced companions and their eventual successors( RDJ and Chris Evans gave great pre-swan song performances . And Gamora seems most likely trapped in the Soul Gem rather than

One of the things that’s made the Marvel cinematic universe so fun is watching so many of the country’s film critics go through the initial stages of comics fandom, in cinematic form. It’s like having a younger cousin who started getting into comics, and every time you meet he’s just encountered some fundamental part

i went to school for a semester in nottingham & although i never took up “oi,” i did take on “ta” for “thanks.”

Yeah I’m thinking Iron Man and Cap are going to bite it getting everyone back. I like the theory that Gamora is going to take over as the Death character so she won’t be out of the picture completely. I’m excited to see Nebula and Iron Man in a brief team-up on their way back from Titan.

‘It can be more than one thing’.

Sometimes you need to take the time to read the article before you comment.

It’s sad that people comment when they haven’t read the fucking article.

Read the article. It’s not claiming that it is.

It’s telling that Overboard was watched and enjoyed by a lot of young kids in the ‘80s and ‘90s. It’s basically a fairy tale. Cinderella-in-reverse. The reason it doesn’t come off as sleazy as the premise suggests is because it’s clearly a silly fantasy despite taking place in the “real world.”

Whoa, whoa. Why let him have a pit?

Lighten up, Francis.

Off topic but every time I see the “When Romance Met Comedy” Venn diagram logo I think for a second that it’s the Mastercard logo and that the feature is a paid sponsor credit card advertisement and so I skip over the article.

The original Overboard gets by entirely on the charm of its leads and the sense that Joanna is actually a lot safer with Dean than Grant. Afterall, she fell off Grant’s boat and no one really noticed. When she makes the news, her husband leaves her at her most vulnerable.

Personally I think Splash is way creepier. The fantasy of a beautiful uber-naif/blank slate completely reliant on you as a guide who is uncontrollably hot for you and you alone ... It’s sick

That’s probably THE thing about Berlin clubs. The party often starts on Saturday night and doesn’t stop until Monday eve, and many people only go out dancing during the day, especially those of us inching towards the wrong end of our 30's and beyond. It’s particularly wonderful in the summer when many clubs start
