If your list is anything like my list, none of the features on it are ever going to be implemented.

I've got a theory on this which goes: in the old days, there was a lot more people who viewed the web as something to interact with - posting comments, using forums, blogging, all of that sort of thing. But now that the rest of the planet has moved on to the internet, especially via smartphones, the web has been

Those were the days.

That would be a funny turn for the books.

yeah, check out the TIF. It came into existence with the change to nuDisqus

I wouldn't necessarily call it catfishing- that's kind of more like being the target of a fake relationship. People faking getting cancer or dying or whatever other tragic stuff is kind of a different dynamic. And is probably more common.

Yes, which makes this shittier, because it means (I think, if I remember the timing right) that he was trying to steal her thunder or something.

totally forgivable

Yeah, but that would be an improvement, because then you would know that, in theory, it was actually on the product map.

He finished it! It was a glorious way to go out.

What do you mean?

Shit, that DOES mean I'll have to become dr livingstone #429

The third of never, probably.

I know that the majority of web traffic is now mobile, but interacting with the web on a mobile device sucks. It's a bad experience regardless.

The problem is that these things are never, ever, optimized towards commenters. It's always optimized towards lurkers (or people who don't read the comments at all). If you are a commenter, the devs see you as an edge case. Doubly so if you're an active commenter, because you're then the 1% of the 1% of DAU.

Where does that happen? How far down do I need to go?

I still hate disqus, but I now have a lot of grudging admiration that they only suck as much as they do, considering what they're attempting. They should suck so much worse.
