He's going scary fast when he comes out of that slide.

IVF isn't the only option. There's also IUI, which is basically taking donor sperm and inserting it during the fertile window.

Thanks!

And you've stated it far more concisely and cogently than I could, so thanks. In summary: Fury Road is the Best.

i guess the incredibly fine distinction I'm cutting is that I think limiting the analogy to organized religion (especially in modern times) doesn't quite fit and maybe even steals some of its power. But myths belong to more than centralized religion (which is itself such a broad category that it might as well be

I've never thought of him as particularly liberal. He's not your current class of conservative, but he's definitely in that same asshole category that Assange, Dawkins, and a good portion of certain segments of reddit fall into. And sadly a few of my old college friends, who certainly THINK of themselves as liberal,

I don't know if it's religion per se - certainly Immortan Joe has got the whole death cult thing going on, but surely the Many Mothers had some sort of spiritual vibe as well.

Not the sons, the Bullet Farmer and the People Eater. So you get: The Patriarch, The Military-Industrial Complex, and Capitalism, as a radical friend of mine put it.

I would opt for being a badass biker granny.

I saw an article on….pbs (?) website about Haiti as a what happens when you put Ayn Rand in practice, and that it's a barbaric hellscape for everyone, even the rich.

Isn't that the old woman who tries to shoot him? Seems to involve lots of tattoos

But it can totally stand up to analysis, which is great.

I would not say the movie was particularly closely aligned with the book, so I suspect fridging her may have been the plan.

Oh yes, I loved that aspect of the first movie. It also made it seem more grounded - both recognizing that there were people involved, and people get hurt, and also giving it stakes outside the protagonists' escape, because you end up caring about the other people involved. It was one thing I did not like about

Urgh, I hated that.

I loved this movie, and watched all the sequels (but for the latest, i suppose). But I'll never love the sequels for two reasons:
1. FUCKING SHAKY CAM. One of the delights of the Bourne Identity was how clear those clean and surgical fight scenes were. Take the example above, with the cops. That would not have been

I think you make a good point. I also think the whole thing is made worse by the fact that they aren't using their extended run time to fit in more plot or characters or world building. They mostly seem to use it to have multiple thirty minute action set pieces. And that's just too much and too boring.

It can be two things!

Though it's so much fun to be a bystander.
