She never lost her shit. She called you out, pretty mildly tbh. You lost your shit.

You called her crazy! You're continuing to call her crazy! You have continually made personal attacks and snide remarks where she simply criticized what you'd said. (And accuse her of overreaction, which is like Trump-level projection, well done).

Did you have to practice to be this much of a dick, or does it come naturally?

Same here. I just feel like I'll best appreciate it vicariously.

You're going to have to up your game. The thing about effective concern trolling is that it's got to be just convincing enough for people to fall for, thinking it's sincere. This is just not going to cut it.

That makes a lot of sense. It'd probably be easier to talk about if we talked about it as separate (if often overlapping) things: e.g. Kink!Furry and Fandom!Furry.

I think it's a lot like kink in that - well, at least in the view from the outside - there's definitely a spectrum that goes from "whatever floats your boat " to "hey, you should probably get help"

It makes more sense if you think of it as a fandom that some people get kinky about. (And as we know, people will get kinky about anything).

This isn't even very good concern trolling.

Seriously.

These aren't the Torchwood reviews.

Counter point: I found everything about Torchwood to be painfully bad, even the episodes people hold up as high points, and it literally caused me pain when my flatmates would put it on, because I spent so much time beating my head on the nearest solid object from the sheer terribleness of it.

"Torchwood for grownups"

The amount of gore and horror took me by surprise, though I think they leaned a little too hard into it. Also though they kind of muddled their themes in a way I was disappointed in.

Been around a good long time then, Mr. 12 comments?

" If only we could all be so lacking in empathy and so bitterly smug in our self-pity that others could only wish they could whine so eloquently."

Wow, the 2nd one is like the definition of strawman. I don't think anyone has argued for non-womanhood. Non-feminism, maybe, but that's not hard when the people in question are loudly affirming their anti-feminist standpoints.

Hmmm…. Sold, I guess.

I migrated over because everyone else did, but I'm never really happy with it. It's so passive. Even with people I've known for years, we're not really chatting/bonding, the medium just isn't a good fit for it.

the thing I kind of liked about the revival - and this is admittedly incredibly perverse of me - is that it was flawed in all the ways the x-files was always flawed. The same exact type of badness.
