Probably not the MAIN point to takeaway from it, but a very good one.

I absolutely love those shoes. I was just describing my shoe quest to MrsPye: "I want sensible shoes. You know the shoes that women are always tramping about the countryside wearing in things set in Britain between the world wars, with their tweed skirts? Those."

Having just lost an elderly relative due to a complex of issues stemming from a wound due to a fall that didn't heal properly (he lost his leg and developed pneumonia in recovery,) I should think being unable to perform duties for some weeks would be less of a concern than death. But I suppose that could be stiff

Yes, same thing!

No más, accent on the a. Slight correction, but hoping to get it to you early.

But if you believe in science and marriage equality, aren't you pretty much just cherry picking the things you like out of the religion and discarding the rest? At that point it's like why even considering yourself a Christian or whatever religion if you only believe in your own personally modified version of it?

Because Christians don't have a voice in this country. What would we do if you weren't here to share the Christian perspective?

It's stunning how many progressive social justice oriented people completely fail at intersectionality when it comes to atheism. They will recognize that we live in a society that privileges Christianity when Islamophobia or anti Semitism is discussed but they don't grasp that it effects atheists too. The stereotype

No one is saying you aren't allowed to have a voice, what we are saying is that too many "good/nice/whatever you want to think of yourself as" Christians sit by and do and say absolutely nothing while their peers engage in homophobia, discrimination and sexism.

The article title reflects the contents of a study. The contents are not favorable to religious parents, and are to non-religious parents. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Where's the other side to see here?

Your voice is a drop in a bucket though. If you wouldn't raise your children to be bigoted, racist, sexist, etc assholes then you are obviously not the type of person this article is talking about. Yeah, both religious and non-religious people can be and raise assholes, but the study this article is reviewing does a

Wow. I mean, the research did find that secular adults were more likely than religious adults to accept the science behind global warming, and to support equality for women and gay people. That isn't a notion or stereotype, it was based on research. If you aren't aware or won't accept that many branches of religion

Your voice is heard, all the time. It's the dominant one in this country.

sorry, miss #notallchristians

Never once had an atheist come pestering at my door trying to shove her beliefs down my throat.

I trust you feel the same way about parents who raise their kids to believe that non-believers and adherent of other religions are going to hell, or need to be "prayed for".
