Do you instantly know the behavior and health history of all members of every family you see on the street? If not then one size fits all statements like “5 is too old” can be really hard on parents and kids who for whatever reason choose strollers past the age you’re comfortable with.

100% this. From the outside it is often impossible to see the struggles and needs of another family, I can’t see any reason to be anything but supportive of other parents doing it the absolute best they can. Sure it’s fun to toss around strong judgements, but there is no 1 size fits all for kids.

That’s great for you and your kid but not all kids are the same. Parents are mostly all just trying to do the best thing for their families. I get that it’s not what you want for your family but if it works for them your distaste may be more about your own issues than theirs.
