THANK YOU. I remember watching it but no one ever mentioned that Clooney had already been on a show called E/R so I started to wonder if it was all a dream.

Too late, it’s engraved.
So what if the national office didn’t know? The local group did. The people responsible for this pageant knew. That should have been enough for someone to say that this was a terrible idea.
The chief curator’s reason for flexibility was to allow her to wrap up work at her current employer, not because of her child. When she mentioned having a baby, he was surprised.
I read the NYT article and I came away with a different understanding. The fact that the chief curator had spoken negatively about a previous employee’s work ethic after having a baby and his surprise/disappointment at finding out that Columbus had a baby don’t speak well for the museum.
Based on the article, it doesn’t sound like there was any attempt at all to be flexible. The company said they could be flexible, the candidate suggested one option, and the company revoked the offer.
I hope I hope they all get lawyers. Even just to send a scary email asking for more details about their termination as it relates to their pregnancies.
Sadly you’re right. They’ve done studies where a male candidate and female use the exact same negotiating script and viewers are far more likely to call the woman pushy, demanding, or greedy.
You have a false belief that you can assess the dependability of an employee based on the number of children they have. The reason anti-discrimination laws are in place is because people wrongly assume that their judgment of an employee is based on fact, when really you’re just stereotyping.
Or maybe she was happier working, and the kids were happy in childcare, and it worked for them. That’s as valid a reason as anything else.
... Or she knew she was better off losing money for a few months or years than to leave the job market and try to get back in once the kids were in school.
So. Much. Hypocrisy.
Company: Women just leave to raise their kids after a few years, they aren’t worth the investment!
I saw the beginning of the end on election night. I’ll catch this on the replay.
NGC is showing Nazi Megastructures: Russia’s War at 9pm. Too on the nose?
Can we please as a nation - no, as a world - agree to not watch? Because the only way to hurt this man is to give him terrible ratings on television.
I’ve never heard of someone having fuller lips as they age.
I weirdly take solace in the fact that Trump has been so awful to the FBI and CIA. When the 2nd Civil War starts, I think they may be on Team Snowflake.
Agree to disagree. Trump is driving the wedge between the US and our allies, I don’t think calling out Americans for tolerating this conduct is going to make it worse.
