Is that Samwell Tarly's autobiography?
Is that Samwell Tarly's autobiography?
Yes! Amazing reference. That movie completely terrified me when I was 12. Oh, the '90s were a simpler time.
Yeah, I give the UK tabs credit for not printing the topless pictures, but Will and Kate can't control who paparazzi pictures are sold to or where they're published, so I can understand them wanting to have tighter control of their privacy. I think especially as George grows up and they have more kids, they're going…
It hasn't exactly been "daisies and sunshine," though. Some European tabloids published pictures of Kate's skirt blowing up in the wind, and topless pictures from her vacation, and those pictures also made it onto the internet (of course). That's incredibly violating, and even though the British tabloids didn't print…
All I'm saying is, wrongful birth sounds bad, but it's not like the mother made it up herself. Her lawyer probably advised her that this claim was the most likely to succeed in court, so she went with it for pragmatic reasons. I don't think it's fair to assign nefarious intent to a legal claim. (Like Tracy Morgan…
I don't think you can extrapolate her feelings from the "wrongful birth" claim. It's a legal claim, not a diary entry. She says she loves her daughter, and why wouldn't we believe her?
I think he's trying to say that Obama can't fire a female director because of the optics, but if he were thinking "as a man" (without regard to politics) he would replace her with a fellow man, because obviously a male director would do a better job. Dog-whistle sexism, basically.
This is 100% a real, documented thing - it's called the "glass cliff" and it happens pretty much all the time. Here's a brief and interesting summary of a study on this phenomenon: http://hbr.org/2011/01/how-wo…
No clue what an IMAX penis is, but he also said that everyone should be understanding because it was very cold on set. So don't get your hopes up!
In unrelated news, I may be spending too much time on Jez.
If you like The Good Wife, this is worth a try. It's a solid legal drama with a side order of sex and mystery, but much more fast-paced than TGW.
No, law schools do not operate like this! 2Ls and 3Ls can do internships or clinics in which they assist on real cases, but no law prof is going to use a 1L Criminal Law class to build their case, nor do most 1Ls have time for intensive work outside of a full-time class schedule.
They have tails! Not a stereotype, really, but still gross.
So they're murdered. Slaughtered. Kids with Down syndrome or other disabilities. The sickly. The elderly.
Don't forget OPEN PLAN. God forbid anyone have walls in their house.
Ugh. It makes me ragey (yet I can't stop watching). I saw one where the people spent $35K redoing their BATHROOM, complete with a jacuzzi tub, flat-screen TV, and wood-burning fireplace. The designer hated it because they didn't have a separate room for the toilet.
