Seemed like the only people who were relatively ok were the ones asleep in crash couches when it happened. Pretty gruesome descriptions in the book.

It’s all relative on Ceres
This reminds me of a pretty dumb list of travel complaints that I saw a Facebook a whole ago. One of the more memorable ones was a British person complaining about everyone in Spain speaking Spanish. Also, the sand didn’t look white like the pictures, it was more of an off white/tan color.
Hybrid version of my car came out a year after I bought mine. It does a little better in the city but only 1 mpg better on the highway at about an extra $5k. A lot of hybrid cars are more of a sales gimmick than they are useful technology.
+1 falling down
It definitely varies depending on your field/profession. Even in an area like working for the federal government where hiring is very structured (apply through the website, check all the boxes, provide documentation, and maybe a nameless HR person will pass on your information to the hiring manager) it doesn’t hurt to…
I tend to look at the content of the reviews more than the stars/rating. It can be super helpful or laughably annoying. Look for specifics about the product or service and why they reviewed it negatively. You should be able to tell fairly quickly if they are sharing good information or are just a crazy person. The…
I’d say it’s all about who knows you. It’s a very subtle but distinct difference. Sure I’ve met lots of people in higher positions or positions of power that I can say I know, and some of them might even remember me. What’s actually been helpful are the people who know me either though personal and professional…

I mean, this is the aggies we’re talking about.
Kinda sad when a large institution whose followers brag so often about their traditions is caught blatantly ripping off a smaller less known school from the same state. Really aggies? Surely you can find a better role model than Baylor.
Yeah, I don’t think I’ve been to one since college.
Never liked Shoney’s, but we ate there anytime we were with my grandparents. Grandpa loves that place.
There are still plenty of dine-in locations, but they don’t usually have the salad bar and the decor like they did back in the 80's and 90's.
I remember when Red Lobster was “fancy”. YOU COULD/(can?) PICK WHICH LOBSTER YOU WANT TO EAT ROGHT OUT OF THE TANK!!?!?
Cracker Barrel is for my grandparents
I know only the big/old three are mentioned here, but I try to avoid them if possible. The routes I usually fly on have older planes and awful customer service. Hawaiian and Alaska have pretty good rewards programs easy to use and accumulate to a useable point fairly quickly. Plus the companion ticket on Alaska is…
I’m pretty stoked I can use my Alaska miles on Virgin America now. It’s been a good deal for people out west. I can see how it would be annoying if you are someone who flys on Virgin America and Atlantic though.
That merger sucked. I had some really good experiences with Continental back in the day. I try to avoid United if at all possible. Their customer service is awful.
Once you add in the African nations who have English as an official language it makes things a little more interesting. Can we also include places like South Africa and India where English is one of their multiple official languages?
