Time enough for love.
I prefer the books. Just a personal preference. They’re both good.
That’s a pretty common issue I’ve had when living/traveling abroad. I know I have an accent, but I’m really trying. Upon hearing my accent every responds in English immediately.
I would have recommended Duolingo. Sucks they don’t have it in Arabic.
Basically the opposite happened for me. Spent a short time in Germany amd when I didn’t know a word the Spanish word would pop up. I eventually started remembering German words and phrases, while traveling through Asia and trying to repeat the limited phrases I’d learned.
I don’t see a problem with the women (or men) who never worked outside the home collecting social security in old age. If they were part of a family/household that contributed then they should get the benefits. You can make an arguement that they should get benefits even if their household didn’t contribute because…
In reality there probably shouldn’t be a disparity. With the way we have nothing guaranteed now, I figure that would be a more acceptable solution to powers that be than both parents being out of the workforce for 6-12 months. It could be an either or thing, but I don’t think you really need 2 people to watch a baby…
Chappell’s Show
Judging from the comments, if looks like an early version had a typo/editing oversight. I kinda think it would have been hilarious to leave it in and just not acknowledge it given the context, but I get why it was fixed. Someone might be reading for the medical info rather than to laugh at trump, and they deserve to…
It’s a depressing thought. I say that as someone who had a lot of fun and didn’t have 2x my salary saved at 35.
I messed around and got started in a career a little late. Probably could have been more aggressive when I first started saving, but I needed money and then enjoyed having a little. Even then, I was at a little over one year’s salary at 35. The number isn’t that far out there if you graduate at 22/23, get a decent…

Not sure why that’s bad really. I check mine once or twice a year. I’m looking at another 25 years before I retire. Chasing short term gains and trying to avoid short term losses just isn’t worth the effort for me.
Started at around $50 in a very low cost of living area. It’s definitely possible in the right field and location.
If your job offers it, then take every minute of it. It’s part of your compensation that you signed up for. You have earned it. Not using it is the same as denying a raise or not maxing out company contributions to your retirement.
Congrats! Sucks that you don’t have paternity leave. We really should find a way to change that for everyone (I’d propose 6 weeks for dads and 4-6 months for moms). Even with the easiest and best baby you’ll still be up multiple times a night at first. With that sort of disrupted sleep, it’s not like you can be fully…
I was really just looking to call Canadians icky shit-slingers. The rest was just filler to get to that point.
It’s unlikely, but it could have a negative effect. A shift in the winds could cause issues at the Hilo or Kona airport, depending on the direction. A shift towards the other islands or a lack of wind would mean issues with vog. It’s not that bad, but it’s annoying and gross, similar to breathing the air in a smoky…
I mean the comment is funny, if completely inaccurate. More people from the west coast visit Hawaii than from flyover states. Hawaii also has a large immigrant population and tons of foreign tourists. If not for the beach, you could almost confuse Waikiki for a neighborhood in Tokyo (lots of high end shopping and…
