I have lived in Egypt a couple times during past several years. I have grown very passionate about the country and it's people, as I think many travelers do when they really fall in love with places they visit. This being said, I would NEVER participate in a protest in Egypt, even if I truly believed in the cause.

Don't tell the staff at your hotel in a country with economic hardships "how wonderful it must be to live there because it's so nice here!" In case you haven't noticed, they are cleaning your room, not vacationing, and their life outside of their work at the resort isn't just parties at the beach.

Also, do not go to memorials or museums dedicated to the country's dictatorship to start praising it or trying to disregard the violation of human rights because of the economic reforms they brought along.
