You hit a stationary 200lb object head on. The semi and SLK were running side by side at essentially the same speed. I’m guessing the SLK moved into the semi’s front bumper. The SLK basically performed a PIT maneuver on itself and (relatively) slowly wrapped itself around the semi. I can completely see that there

Hey, I’m working on a degree in graphic design, any tips?

Hi

Neutral: What’s The Best Communist Car?

This bit of audio was extremely sobering

Had a Jeep that got this treatment.  300k on the clock when I got it, and never once drained the oil.  I’d top it up when it got low, and changed the filter every year or so.  Made it to 400k without much drama before I sold it.

I thought most older cars just had self-changing oil?

Might be a good candidate for a “periodic dilution” approach, like so many of us do with older cars. Just drain a bit, fill a bit at regular intervals. Change the filter periodically.

This is the best part. Just because taxi drivers are losing their jobs to better services, I’m supposed to feel bad? Let’s implement redundant and restrictive rules to save other dying jobs.

Bail out all the dying industries. Coal mining, taxi driving, chimney sweeping, all of them.

They’re probably “useable bikes” if you take 10 of ‘em to make one you can actually ride.

What a waste. The bikes could have been donated to kids and people who are without.

“Inspection? What the fuck is that?”

You do realize that government intervention that benefits particular business (aka “cronyism”) is not capitalism right? OK, just checking...

One of the unintended consequences of the 55mph speed limit was that it broke the automatic association between speed limits and safety in the minds of the driving public. Prior to 1973, speed limits (on highways, at least) were usually set according to the 85th percentile rule - the speed which 85% of vehicles would

The point to fighting the power is to offer resistance. The outcome is not necessarily the goal, but take your pound of flesh; make them waste time and money convicting you. If everyone fought every traffic ticket written, the revenue system would crash.

They need to race it against a Shogun.

Let’s assume an EV goes 300 miles on a charge. Let’s also assume you do 70 mph because you’re on the highway for a trip. That means you need to stop every 4.5 hrs to charge. I doubt people will be eating a sit down 30 minute meal every 4.5 hours (I mean people DO in the US, which is a whole ‘nother problem).
