I love when part of her dinner prep becomes a quick lunch while she preps for the evening meal. One episode had me eating a regular lunch of baked chicken breasts with a bit of butter and rosemary shoved under the skin, baked with the chicken I then used in a soup.

Since I was a wee funk I’ve dreamed of being one her flower shop owning friends that she brings lunch to while picking up a bouquet for her dinner party.

She was on a recent episode of America’s Test Kitchen and talks about this and opening her grocery. I just love her voice and her fabulous life.

Also, if you don’t unpack your kitchen stuff quickly, you’ll be spending a small fortune on take-out.

I say this every move! I finally used some to at least move furniture, but man I need the money to just hire someone to do it all.

There is a difference between respecting a culture and knowing that discrimination is bullshit.

I live in Japan and homosexuality isn’t really even acknowledged, let alone accepted. There are certainly sub cultures in larger cities but LGBTQ rights are basically nonexistent.

I just hope the directors hired were hired because they’re good, not cause they’re women.

This is one of the biggest weaknesses of the show. There are complex female characters in this world, but they often fall flat because there isn’t enough representation in the writers room or behind the camera.

I think I went through this phase. I could only drink gin and tonic or I would feel like I was going to puke. It passed. I had to cut back on drinking for a few weeks and then start slow.
