I can squirrel away money to buy an expensive phone every 3-4 years. This does nothing to increase my income in a high cost of living area or help me save tens of thousands of dollars for a down payment. 

There’s no privacy and people are more obsessive about looking productive (she types in her office). I’ve had offices where employers didn’t even want us listening to music or podcasts while we did monotonous tasks because they didn’t like the way it looked.
