Sorry, I don’t get my financial info from op eds written in the NYer, especially if they start off their articles with facts I have already disproved.

If your house costs $250-$350K and you make $100K a year, there is no reason to NOT be able to pay off that mortgage in 10 years of employment, even with kids.

Hour-long commutes? My gawd that must be awful and surely the only ones who have to commute to work. I mean it’s not like people who make major bank in Manhattan still can’t afford to comfortably live there and think it’s pretty good deal to get a house in Westchester instead of a broom closet condo with high

The best part about this outrage is that when Turkey shot a Russian plane down (killing one pilot in the process) who had also similarly and accidentally veered into Turkish territory, these shitheads were applauding Turkey’s heinous actions as totally fair and not problematic at all.

The initial reaction by Pfizer investors wasn’t that much more rapturous. Immediately after the announcement on Monday, Pfizer’s shares dropped 2.6% to trade at $31.33, while Allergan (technically the acquirer) saw its stock drop 3.4% to $301.72 a share, trading at 17% below the price that Allergan investors will get

Dollars to donuts I bet you Saba never had a real job in her life and gets all her money from back home in Saudi Arabia, the UAE or one of those other rich Gulf countries that produces morons as citizens.

The best part of that reasoning of hers is that she knows that it doesn’t apply to her, if a gay person or a woman who had an abortion came up to her to convince her.

Um, you do realize that 15% of the US population is over 65 and 20% is under 14 years old, therefore likely unable to work?

For starters, they do a piss poor job of letting people know what their community is actually like.

Her agreement with the Republican party seems anything BUT reflexive. If she was reflexively agreeing, she’d be the one to dump the Republicans and extend her efforts to people who are open to listening to what she has to say - not to try to meet with Trump, who has actively thrown out Muslisms from his town hall

Links with stats or STFU. Name even ONE firm that has left.

For those of us who weren’t turning 5 when 9/11 happened, we remember that financial firms also threatened to store incomes abroad, and demanded tax breaks on rentals and mortgages to stay in Manhattan. Curiously, they stayed, despite the fact that that real estate and tax breaks they got from NY was a drop in the

Sorry, but just because the Office of the First Lady is a department under the Executive Branch doesn’t mean that any first lady has the authority to bring forth her pet legislation. Janitors and Secret Service agents are also government employees, and they don’t have that right either; only elected representatives

The New Yorker and the Economist don’t address (and have never addressed) capital flight statistics in ANY of their articles, as they run opinion pieces, not news. Since you’re so keen to mention sources, what are YOUR sources for this capital flight claim?

I know damn well what she did as Secretary of State. Curiously, she doesn’t feel the need to tout any of her “accomplishments” in her speeches to crowds whose votes she seeks, or even journalists who ask her about them.

What people don’t seem to get is that for single payer to genuinely cost more, people who are paying $5000+ a year in healthcare costs (premiums, etc.) would have their taxes increase by $500o+ a year, which is ludicrous. The only people who are going to see their tax bills increase are Hillary’s $250K “middle class”

Spoiler: if you bother to talk to an actuary (either before or after Obamacare was passed) you’d know that there’s no way in hell that premiums are going to go down under this system or that it will make emergency room visits less appealing to those who couldn’t afford to go to the regular doctor before.

They didn’t listen to her because she wasn’t an elected official and therefore had no business presenting legislation at all.

Unless you count Romney, which is pretty much what Obamacare is.

The President of the United States can fight ISIL? Ya don’t say!
