No he is not. The FBI is an agency working under the jursidiction of the DOJ, not the executive. The FBI, and its director specifically, do not respond to the president directly.

The point is, impeachment is a political procedure. And under the (very loose) definition of "high crimes", there's plenty to start one with yesterdays' deposition alone.

Like i said before, the US now has a former FBI director with documented accounts of the POTUS asking him to drop an active investigation on his National Security Advisor.

It is just a lame excuse. A former FBI director declared that the POTUS asked for an investigation to be killed using terms like "let the Flynn matter go", "get rid off" or "lift this cloud" (sic), on multiple occasions. I mean, that line of argument wouldn't fly for a New York mob boss.

He also stated very clearly that a) Trump lied and b) asked Comey to drop the investigation on Flynn on several occasions. There's more than enough for impeachment right there.

I don't know. Having a former FBI director, fired under shady circumstances, declaring under oath that the POTUS is an outright liar should be a massive bombshell. But we live in interesting times…

I had a similar experience talking about the Comey thing with Trump supporters just yesterday. The takeaway, for every single one of them, was how Comey told Trump he was not the specific target of any ongoing investigation.

Amen to this. People accuse him of being a one trick pony but, if that's the case, that one trick is fucking awesome. Sicario and Arrival OSTs are beyond words.
