“You can only jump so far into the future before Trek becomes wholly disconnected from its origins and buried in its own lore.”

This. So much this. If you don’t want to make it look like the timeframe it’s set in, then set it in a different timeframe! Don’t try to tell us that this is how the 1850s looked when that’s not how they looked.

What would you rather they did, film it with painted plywood walls with Jolly Ranchers glued to the control boards

What a fucking blown opportunity Inhumans was.

A man who lost everything except his gym membership and never skipped leg day.

The only dots they can connect are grains of cocaine.

Yeah, I give everything a shot, especially Trek, but I’m the guy who bounced on Next Generation once I saw the second episode was going to be a remake of an original series episode and didn’t give it another until Deep Space Nine started and they ran back-to-back.

“Yeah, I crashed the plane. The ground was where it shouldn’t have been!”

“I punched Ryan Gosling in the face,” Ford said. “Ryan Gosling’s face was where it should not have been.”

It’s a description that just fits. You know. Like a glove.

You’ve really got to hand it to Capaldi. He knows his Doctor Who. One could even say that he’s an old hand at all things Whovian.

Some of us talk until we’re blue in the face. I’m queer and a woman and I’ve had my family members tauntingly tell me that I’m going to have to move to Canada or California. I’ve kept talking and trying to get them to see my side of things. My more sane family members think I’m being a bitch and tell me that the

Half?

Poll: Half of Republicans are morons.

I really enjoy your interpretation, and man do I hope that’s the case. It would add some layers to the story. The thing is, I don’t actually believe the writers were that deliberately clever about the scene in question.

Everybody dies, then everybody doesn’t.

“These are people of the land. The common clay of the new west. You know...morons.”

The only person at Marvel obsessed with the Inhumans is Ike Perlmutter. Basically, he felt that not having the movie/TV rights to the X-Men was a tremendous blow to the MCU, so he decided to set the Inhumans up as a non-mutant alternative, with comic book miniseries and subplots on AoS leading up to a big Inhumans

You have a certain appetite for body horror in your detailed descriptions, haven’t you.

Is that a good thing? I don’t mind ad libs, but I do value writers, and there are very few actors I trust that far.
