The Legacy does look very promising; I haven't driven it myself yet, but my uncle just purchased a 2011 model and loves it.
Because if I can only get 1 or 2 cars, I don't want to have something I won't enjoy driving or even just sitting in. Practicality is only one factor to be considered in buying a family car.
