A) probably save you more money then you spend on your constant stream of shitboxes.

No you’re not (a cheap bastard). You’ve spent more on rusty jeeps and repair parts than I have on late model volkswagens. Mine are quiet, safe, fast, and reliable (ish).  You may not want to pay much for a vehicle up front, but you clearly pay a lot in the long run.  Think about it.

Counterpoint: The RENESIS made almost as much horsepower naturally-aspirated (235HP) as the 13B-REW did with two turbos (255HP), and handily outpowered the single turbo 13B-T (185HP).

I mean people disliked the styling of the current Gen Civic Type R but I don’t seem to see many complaints currently, maybe it’s the simple fact it was new and it seems like car people hate change.
