Actually driving? I don’t go driving for fun on the freeway. I go driving for fun in the canyon roads, and the area around LA has possibly the highest density of great canyon roads in the country.

Lots of people on here seem to love to shit on California, but I will say I’ve lived in a lot of places in the US and the world. And California offers a unique combination of comfort (weather), food, diversity, and vibrant but laid back culture that I cannot find anywhere else. It just feels great.

Am I the only one concerned that this car sports Z1 Star Spec tires, which were last available like 7 years ago?

We’re not far from the Lotus Evita now.

This raises an interesting question. Generally, front and rear temperatures and, thus, pressures increase and decrease at different rates. I know for my car, if I have even starting pressures, my rear pressures will end up about 2-4 psi higher than the fronts. I have to imagine the Toyota crew had real time data from

The team clearly messed up and, to their credit, they admit as such.  It’s baffling to me that the internet reaction instead appears to be outrage at the ACO for enforcing a pretty black and white rule.

Important to note: it wasn’t that the fuel tank was only 0.1 liters too large. The actual memo says that the tank was AT LEAST 96.1 liters. They stopped draining the tank once the volume was found to be greater than the 96 liters. Thus, “the complete on-board volume is likely to be greater than the measured amount.”

I’m interested in seeing if they’ll implement the motors with lockers and how that would be like if they did. You’d also think individual electric motors per wheel would make sense in a Land Cruiser application. If they did that, it would make wheelspin control much easier.

A hybrid Land Cruiser is exactly what I want.  A hybrid would improve fuel mileage by an appreciable degree and would, if implemented correctly, actually improve trail performance.  Don’t overlook the instant torque advantages of an electric motor in technical situations!

I sold my 997TT last year and got almost the same amount that I bought it for.  I’m looking at 718s as a possible buy.  People hate the flat 4, but I bet they’ll be nostalgic for it once the vehicles are all electric.

I think Toyotas having that curve tells you that certain Toyotas are overpriced, but are also very valued for their dependability and reliability.  The market quickly figures out what the actual price should be, and from then on the typical low Toyota depreciation takes over.

One pink pig please!

One of the key things that these analyses seem to miss is that, often, a vehicle that depreciates steeply in its first few years will continue to depreciate steeply. Since depreciation is such a huge component of ownership if we own a car for 3-5 years, that factor may make what seems to be a good value used car not

This article is incorrect: The no. 7 Toyota set the provisional pole time BEFORE the accident. The running after the accident was practice and laptimes were generally about 2 seconds slower than their pole time.

Did your mom figure out that it’s actually faster to short shift the 124 around 6,000 rpm instead of running it out to redline?  Also, I hope she had sport mode on the entire time, because it’s very difficult to heel toe the 124 without it on.

There’s a Facebook group for literally anything, so this really isn’t surprising in the least.

Wangan Midnight also captures the car social scene perfectly. Namely, that a select few are lifers and most others are just passing through. There are people that get intensely into it for a period of time, but then decide to move on because, say, getting married and raising a family is more important. I’m sure we’ve

This might be a mule for their Le Mans hypercar effort.

You underestimate how crazy and inefficient normal people’s driving is.

That’s under the old EPA mpg standards.  Modern Moroneys reflect an updated standard that’s more realistic and also much lower.  Most of the 30 something mpg cars of today would be 40 something mpg under the old standard.
