No Mr. Fusion, I expect you to die!
No Mr. Fusion, I expect you to die!
This is the FIA’s own presentation, which is neutral on whether it could’ve saved Jules:
Can we not compare highway mpg to combined cycle mpg? It’s not a valid comparison.
You have it backwards. HALO would have prevented the injury to Bianchi, as Bianchi’s helmeted head collided with the side of a crane. Whether it would have saved him, due to the high g forces of the crash itself, is an open question, but it would have at least prevented or reduced the diffuse axonal injury that he…
You might want to look up the history of Maserati and ALFA Romeo. Would also be good to figure out which team Enzo Ferrari drove for before he started Ferrari.
I feel like overlanding is the more logical move for when you have a family and settle down. Safari cars are still not family friendly and it’s really the aspect of “I want to still be involved in car culture, but now I need to lug my wife and kid around too” that makes overlanding so attractive to car dads.
It’s my working theory that a large percentage of the kids involved in the import tuner scene in the 1990s and early 2000s ended up getting married and having kids and are now driving the overland scene. What do you think?
I don’t generally like eating while driving, but my wife loves to snack. It creates a funny situation where she’s always offering me food and I’m always refusing. Sometimes though, having something to munch on helps break up the monotony. In those situations, I generally prefer fruit.
I will settle for just another car sponsored by an Urology Clinic.
If you own a Supra, you sound like you’re resourceful and you’ll find a way to get what you need overnight some parts from Japan.
Twist wheels are the worst. Wheels should be symmetrical!
The list of racecars forced to enter before they were ready and flaming out spectacularly as a result is long.
My car choice should make it clear that I do play “God Save the Queen” on a regular basis.
It’s a pitch, not a field.
Yeah I’m learning that as well. It seems that ride alongs work well for timid students as they’ll always drive within themselves. For students that are more gung-ho, the ride alongs can often be counterproductive.
Space pirates you say? Sign me up!
One word of caution when riding shotgun with an experienced driver: it’s a great learning experience, but continue to listen to the car and, especially, the inner voice inside you when you get back to your own car. I’ve had students ride with me and then spin when they’re back in their car because they’re trying to…
Buying a car because I need to get to work is very different from being interested in cars. The vast majority of people that buy cars do it because they have to, not because they want to, and they generally just get an appliance car. Having fewer of those buyers doesn’t mean car culture is dying.
“Dillon Shane Webb’s “I EAT ASS” sticker is, in my eyes, the epitome of a classy adornment for any Chevy pickup.”
Person asking for advice is obviously not a car person and just needs something to support a hobby.
