I too have fractured my foot performing the act of walking down stairs. But in my case, no one cared other than the kind stranger who carted my ass to the emergency clinic and my parents who continue to marvel at my clumsiness.

I’m technically a 10 1/2 wide, which basically doesn’t exist. I usually just wear an 11 regular, and put those sticky heel grips around the back if it’s too long and rubbing. Why do all the small and average size-foot ladies get half sizes and not us??

Dansko clogs are really good for standing and walking all day, which is why a lot of nurses wear them. One caveat is that the’re not so awesome for lots of stairs - I sometimes feel like they’re going to fall off.
