White privilege gets used as an insult more often than not. And when your use to a word or term being used as an insult, it becomes instinctive to put up walls.

Not that I don’t see merit in the idea, but a single day strike in a saturated media environment that sustains itself on editorials and think pieces in between newsworthy material? Impactful it ain’t. Were it not for this announcement, I doubt I would’ve noticed.

I understand very much that people want to see themselves represented in the media they consume, but I can’t really get behind fans dictating to creators how to shape their output.
