Huh??? What does BMI have to do with how a person looks?

I'm confused. People can't look unhealthily overweight?

You're welcome!

It does feel like the writers begrudge Lena her success (since she's a fellow White, female writer in a similar age bracket as most of the Jezzie writers) and they try to tear her down or make money off of her show whenever they can.

Can Jezebel please stop trying to make money off of Girls? It's icky.

Most contestants gain some weight back.

I am not sure you are aware, but a couple years ago Jezebel posted a video of a woman being sexually assaulted. There was a absolute outcry from the readership and the media at large for posting such a thing. One of Jezebel's "excuses" was that the rape video was posted on other sites first, so it was no big deal.

Bossip is incredibly racist, though. Posting something they post is like co-signing their racism.

Yes, it is.

Bossip is so, so awful, spiteful, colorist, anti-woman...I could continue for days.

She writes about heartbreak, crappy guys, being lonely, etc. So does Adele. So do most songwriters at some point.

I totally hear you.

I agree that it's a bit much. She's also Yale-trained, hard-working, charming, funny, etc.

What I find funny will be different than what you find funny. We're different people, that's to be expected. I don't find Tyler Perry's Medea movies to be funny in the least, though millions upon millions do. And that's great for TP and the cast and crew that he employs. I'm also not the biggest fan of Louie C.K.'s

I so agree. I've auditioned for many things in my life, many of which have been videotaped.

Go in peace, my SJW friend!

Sounds like a good idea, actually.

It makes me uncomfortable that this has been uploaded for us to laugh at. He's not great but he tried for something. I'm not sure pointing and laughing is a good use of our time. Not to mention that this was YEARS ago.

I stated quite simply that funny people tend to care about funny more that anything else. So Seinfeld's comment is the same thing Chris Rock had said 100 times. It is pretty binary for comedians: did you make me laugh? Yes or no?

Why are you reaching for "implications."? Read words as they are written, especially when the author states that she wrote is precisely what she meant. No need to infer a damn thing. I DO NOT believe in any way, shape, or form that any structure in the U.S. of A. is a true meritocracy, not comedy clubs, law firms,
