Stefan, Selfish and dumb? I think you just blasphemed.

Stefan could have snapped Vikki's neck or something. Isn't a vamp nap the acceptable form of discipline for unruly vamps that act out? He didn't stake Damon for instance, and he was killing people left and right at the time. Vicki was expendable to Stefan in the same way she was to Damon, harsh but true.
Matt saw that

Hi Carrie,
I could understand this storyline better if they hadn't presented Damon's choice to dessicate as selfish. Both Bonnie and Stefan do not view his actions as selfless and neither do the writers since Julie has indicated that Bonnie will have a hard time forgiving Damon for what he has done. Everything they

Damn, I just remembered that Damon has werewolf toxin in his system so he knows he is as good as dead anyhow.

The whole swapping the "mark" is just stupid. Rayna kept Damon (a vampire) alive so that she could swap the mark to him, to save Stefan (a vampire) from running from her for eternity? but he is still a vampire? albeit a special one that doesn't deserve to die. OK then show we will pretend that Stefan is a saint and he

Yep, he said he was taking himself out of the game because people (Stefan and Bonnie) won't stop trying to save him. He came to this conclusion because of what TYLER said to him, that he can't go 60 yrs without screwing up, which was emphasized further when Tyler reminded Damon that as a werewolf, he would kill Bonnie

I mostly agree with what you are saying which is I think that Damon doesn't do everything for Elena, however, the narrative is trying to retcon all Damon's good deeds for others aside from Elena as being ALL ABOUT ELENA.
Listen to the words they do or don't put in his mouth, it's BS this season.
To Tyler "Lucky for you

Well he did save her life in 6x22, and in 7x01, but since then I got nothin'. Actually they are pretty good reasons so…..?
It's just that since then she has done way, way more for him, including agreeing with all his plans and ideas.

So why didn't Damon just kill Tyler then? The narrative spoken by Tyler is that the only thing stopping Damon from ripping his heart out is Elena. Is it?
There is an argument for and against, but ultimately Damon is in a life or death situation here trapped with a werewolf on a full moon. Elena would understand,

Actually as Damon fan primarily, this notion frustrates the hell out of me too, even if I do like DElena.
This has been Damons internal struggle in his eternity, the belief that he is not good enough. I thought we were past all that, that he had proven enough times that at his core he has the innate ability to be a

I like the Bonnie and Damon dynamic, but right now she is acting like she is more sired to his ass than Elena ever did.

Oh he got over Elena fine, he just never got over her choosing Damon. It was a brand new concept for him.

The imagery of Klaus peering at a dessicated heretic just makes me laugh so hard.
They wouldn't last five minutes with Klaus. His paranoia at such a thing would have him in extermination mode quicker than you could say white oak stake.

I respect your opinion about who has better chemistry with who, but I can't find any common ground here.
I don't agree.

You need to reread my comments and put them into the context of the discussion I was having with Angelique about the whole cheating thing.
I state quite clearly that I'm actually OK with Damon sleeping with that girl under the circumstances, it is the show putting the words in DAMONS mouth that he is cheating on Elena,

Actually, for most of the season he was human albeit with magic siphoning powers, but i'm assuming he was as vulnerable to normal human methods of death like any witch, once he left the 1994 PW of course.
He had plot protection from Alaric and Jo for a while, and once he became leader of the Gemini coven, no one would

It's like they have plot blindness when they write Stefan, and Caroline sometimes. This episode they had Caroline say to Stefan "why is it always you (who gets hurt/dies/has to go away)"
What does she (the writers) mean? It was Damon and Bonnie who were locked away in a prison world, after they "saved" Stefan, Tyler

I hadn't noticed the soundtrack for Klaroline scenes so I will take your word for it, I obviously don't pay attention lol.
The only relationship this show has dared to explore and highlight the unhealthy aspects has been DE, and it looks like they are returning to that again where Damon is concerned, but this time, the

"Mayonnaise and white bread" hilarious, and true.
I had high hopes for Denzo back in S5. This guy was the person that had a huge impact on defining Damon Salvatore for decades. He is the reason Damon Salvatore turned off his humanity, something that is implied he hadn't done before. It was a major part of a character

There are a lot of assumptions right here.
I think you are right that Damon was always planned to fall for Elena, and they did not want to give him ANY serious love interest other than Elena, because that is who Damon is, in the books as well.
Damon will always be ALL about Elena, it's the DNA of the books and the
