I know, and honestly, I'm not mad at Damon for sleeping with that girl, BUT, they wrote him guilty. They had him say it "I'm a vile cheater who couldn't wait a year". Damon thinks Elena is dead, so justifies it in his mind, but he knows Bonnie doesn't know that, so expects the backlash from Bonnie, which doesn't come.

Well Damon just cheated on Elena, with Bonnies' approval. See what I mean about character bending?
I'm glad you have pointed out how Elena basically was capable of terrible stuff when she was human, because most think she was a special snowflake that "changed" because she got with Damon. Nope, Elena was always that

There are so many things WRONG about this show it always amazes me that people try to pin it all on DE, when in fact, DE is just as much of a casualty of poor writing as everything else that has been complained about in recent years.
Season 6 was better, because it was mainly a character driven narrative with delena,

Me neither. Without Dalaric, his character is surplus, and agreed, he hasn't shown any respect to Bonnie or Caroline even when they have helped him the most this season.
Don't get me started on how he treated Damon and Bonnie last season.

Nail on the head. I have beating that dead horse for years.
There has been little character development for Stefan. He is essentially the same as he was in S1, with the exact same condescending dialogue. His human blood ripper arc could have amounted to something better, but they just hand waved his issues and had him

A thousand yeses.
I would argue that Stefan has been a jerk since S1, and since we have seen him act like a class A jerk in most of the flashbacks, I would say that pretty much confirms that Stefan has always been a jerk. The Stelena Stefan was the pretend version, and even then his halo would slip in his unguarded

Julian lasting as long as he did is just insulting, considering what and who our gang has faced in the past, and his justification for hanging around MF was equally laughable.
Loved your list of many easy ways to kill Julian, lol. In the end he was killed so easily it was anti climatic.
I didn't like the way Stefans

So Julian is finally dead! see, it wasn't THAT difficult after all. I doubt Valerie actually needed Stefans' assistance at all, I'm sure she could have finished him off all on her own, but whatever you say show.
Whoever wrote Stefans' line "I'm tired of being the smart one", needs to go back and watch 7x09 "cold as

The flash-forwards were a cool concept at the start of the season, but now I'm just tired of them stalling to get to it now. They have always been the hook to keep me interested from the start of S7, because those stories looked far more interesting than the present ones with Lily and the heretics, and it looks like

Everyone has moved on emotionally from Elena, except for Damon, understandably. I don't see everyones' lives revolving around her at all.
Sure, Caroline is writing in her diary, but that is only sporadic, as she mentions in this last episode, but I don't see that as obsessing..

Hallelujah!

"Damon could have expected his mother to try to love him just like she loved her Heretics. Damon never did that."

My life philosophy is that your children owe you nothing, but you owe your children everything.

Agreed, as as we learned, Lily was never about emotional reconnection with her sons, her first instinct was revenge, even after she learned that her "family" had been brought back by Kai.
Lily had everything that she wanted, she "won", but that wasn't enough for her, she still had to exact her revenge (punishment

Both Damon AND Stefan deserved love from their mother. They did NOTHING to her for her to remove them from her heart. She "died", but they still loved her, they NEVER replaced her in their affections. Damon still loved her even when it became apparent to him that she hadn't in fact DIED, that was evident when Lily

I know, winky face!

Like you said, she's had sex with Damon, I don't see her giving that up anytime soon ;)

"I think the second version of human Elena just realized that she spent too long having sex with Damon to snap back to Stefan. I think if Stefan gave Elena any hint that he'd be receptive to her nonsense, she'd be on him like white on rice."

Enzo was last seen being kidnapped by Matt Donovan and friends.

It's a rare thing that we agree on an episode, and especially when it comes to Damon, but you nailed down exactly what was wrong with this episode, and that was the entire premise. Despite being entertained by his antics trying to save the people, and the flashes of the Damon I love making an appearance in human Damon
